Looking for Daycare, Preferrably in a Home Environment

I live in the Dakota County area and am looking for daycare when I have to return to work. I'll only be working three days per week. I'd like to have our son be in the same location for all three days. I'm leaning torward a home environment, but am open to a larger facility if it's the right fit. Any suggestions? Thank you!

What can I do next?

I'm not sure how old your child is but my in home daycare lady located in Inver Grove Heights close to 70th street may have an opening. She's wonderful. She's structured during the school year, lets older kids skip naps if they don't want one, offers a variety of foods, on the food program, liscensed, TV is very limited, introduces kids to potty at 18 months and most are day potty trained by 22 months or so, no yelling is permitted, kids are responsible for cleaning up, she does a daily sheet on the kids day, no smoke smell, one dog and cat but 95% of the time they are upstairs away from the kids, fenced yard, says a cute thank you for our food, Amen at lunch. Um...she listens to what parents want. She's such a wonderful middle aged women and they have a very loving enriched environment. She has 3 children the youngest is 6 and goes to a private school. Contact the Dakota County Licensing center for a back ground check. You might want to google it. Let me know if you want her name. Let me know if I can be more help. Oh, we get a 2nd child discount and pay $250 for two kids per week FT and she may be interested in PT too. In any case you'll still want to do a back ground check with the licensing center. I found some interesting things about providers both positive and very, very negative.

go to the dakota county website, poke around on there for the social services section. You can request a list within 10 miles of your zipcode. Be prepared though, there will be a lot of providers to choose from. Part time is hard to find.
