I just found out today that my son's daycare provider no longer wants to watch kids. She has been wonderful and affordable. So this is sad news for me. So now I have to find another option. I live in Crowley and Work Downtown Fort Worth. Does anyone have any leads to a really great place for my son. He will be 2 in October and is a very active and busy boy. Im thinking its time for him to go to a Daycare facility, but they are so expensive Im not sure I can afford it. This is stressful for me as I work 2 jobs and have 2 kids and a husband to take care of. Thank you for those that respond to my plea for help!

What can I do next?

you can use your states DCF (department of children and families) website to search for licensed providers. It's tough, I know I'm doing it here in Florida for a preschool. You have to make a list and visit as many as you can, and ask lots of questions. Good luck.

I also live in Crowley - during the school year my youngest attends CUMP (Crowley United Methodist Preschool). The preschool is M-Th 9am-2pm but they also have before school care and after school care, it will still leave your Friday open but we absolutely love them. My oldest went there from age 2 until Kindergarden and even though he was barely 5 when he started Kinder he did fantastic and I honestly think it was b/c of CUMP. Both boys love going to school there, the teachers are so caring and wonderful and the office staff are like family.
This summer I used Children's Courtyard (b/c CUMP follow the school calendar so are closed for summers). They have more of a day care type setting and they really offer a lot to the kids as far as learning etc, but I don't feel the same type of "love" as from CUMP. We will continue to use CUMP during the school year and CC during the summer. Good Luck!!

I have a perfect suggestion for you. The daycare is located near Sycamore School Rd. and I-35. If you are in Crowley, it's that close to you. The name of the facility is 3D Daycare and the owner's name is Christina Steadman. I have had my daughters with her since she started as an in-home daycare over 4 years ago.

They treat the kids like family and they are open late. They also offer special perks. For instance, next weekend they are offering Parent's night out FREE to all full-time families.

You might try Montessori at Sundance Square downtown. Their teachers are specially trained in the Montessori method of education.

I have found most of my clients on Craigslist. I'm an excellent provider (I'm not in your area though), so yes, you can find a reliable sitter there, just be sure to interview and check backgrounds and references.

If you have a local Craigslist you can place an ad. I know you will have to screen them carefully. But most good providers are stuck using Craigslist since it seems to be the most reliable way to advertise our openings. I've tried every form of advertising in 25 years and newspapers are dead. Word of mouth does not work because it never comes in at the right time. I'd starve if I just held out for the people my parents tell to call me. Most of the time they tell me they gave my # out and I never hear from the people. They ask me all the time if their friend or co-worker called me and the answer is pretty much always no.
