I'm a 28 year old first time mom that has to (unfortunately) return to work in 2-3 weeks and I'm having trouble finding a good caregiver for my new baby. She'll be 7 weeks old when I go back to work and I'm dreading just handing her over to someone. Does anyone have a referral for someone in the area? We live in Davison and I work in Grand Blanc so it'd be nice if was somewhere close by. I'm really struggling with this and was hoping you nice mamas might have a referral or know of somewhere I should look. I'd prefer an in-home daycare as opposed to a big center due to the amount of children they allow at some places, but if the big place is better then I'll check them out too! Oh- before you ask, yes, cost is an issue, but we don't qualify for state funding.
I know this is an old post. Did you find childcare that you are happy with? If so, please share.
My daughter goes to the Cardinal Center in Davison for Preschool and they do provide Daycare there as well. It's run through the school system so I trust them there. I haven't had any dealings with the daycare but it would be a good place to check into.
I also heard that the Baptist Church by the library has decent day care.

You can try this website... www.oaklandchildrencare.org or call 1-866-4CHILDCARE. If you go online they will email you a listing. I used them but ended up using my Mom who quit working. I would go and take a tour of many of them and ask if you are able to just drop in instead of making an appt so you see the TRUE daycare so they can not have enerything perfect when you come.
