I need a creative & fun way to tell me hubby we are expecting again. (For the 3rd time)
To tell him the 1st time I asked him to sit down and handed him a cute little box that had the cuttest baby socks in it. He didn't sit at first but as soon as he opened the box he did.
The second time I bought my 1st son a T-shirt that read "Big Brother" and asked him to go ask his Dad if he liked his T-shirt.
One thing that does make me a bit nervous is that for past year he has been asking me to get rid of all our baby things. When we 1st talked about starting a family, we decided we wanted 3. In the past year he has repeated several times that we are done with two. I kinda understand him cuz I was recently laid-off. I want him to be happy like me. So I'm thinking the way I tell him may make a difference. I hope.

I think perhaps the straightforward approach would be best in this instance, since it seems like somehow this happened without your husband's agreement...(not sure how, though, since it takes two to tango!). If he's going to be upset, he will be upset whether you tell him in a cutesy way or not.

I would just do it the straightforward way. And tell him as soon as possible. You two are in this together. Good luck.
That was easy till I started reading towards the end. Either way you tell him give him time to swallow it and hopefully he will be as excited as you are. Maybe find out why he changed his mind on more than two? Is he feeling left out? to much pressure? Try and solve that part of the issue and maybe it will aleviate some of his concerns. Thats gaming that he will communicate and we are all aware how great guys are at that!
Congrats on your big news...I will tell you my b/f has 5 kids and she has always said more than two is always easier than 1 or 2.....
I wouldn't stress too much about him being mad or upset. We were not planning any more children, and my husband even went for a vasectomy... two months later I found out I was pregnant... I won't lie... I was scared to tell him. But on the other side of it, I really had no reason to worry. it's not all MY fault, and he would never ever consider the idea that he didn't WANT our child.
Anywho.... my way wasn't very creative, but...
I told my husband by leaving the pregnancy test on his side of the sink in our bathroom... i knew that the minute he came home he would go upstairs and pick out the clothes for the next day and lay them on his sink and see it... i snuck upstairs after him and gave him puppy eyes - he hugged me and said "oh my goodness... we're never going to sleep again... so much for retiring early, huh?"

For my second, I used my daughter's leap frog letters and wrote on the Fridge, "I'm Prego". When he walked in I told him that my daughter had a surprise for him on the fridge. I had the video tape running to catch his expression --- even though he said he kinda knew already.
Can you give him a golden egg for Easter with something written inside it? Target sells them in 3 packs, which were perfect for my 3 kids, and might be now for yours. It's a simple idea, but what you write inside could be a heartfelt way of delivering the news, recalling the fun times you imagined having 3 kids. This might be a safe, subdued approach in case he's not up for something really big & flashy in light of recent conversations and events. Otherwise, you know, you could always try the duck & run approach..."So how was your commute? Oops, I'm pregnant and we're out of milk...gotta run to the store!"
