I am looking for dress shoes that are comfy and good for being on your feet a lot. I have lots of "real" cute shoes but none that are good for working, walking in. I am a secretary and I walk a lot but I want to start wearing my business appreal and have NO comfy shoes any ideas? They have to be inexspensive too, or course, cute, inexspensive and comfy-aren't I asking for a lot! LOL

What can I do next?

Crocs all the way! Visit crocs.com - there are tons of new styles in every color and some dressy ones, too! My mom is a seminar presenter - on her feet all day when she is training and swears by them - as well as the rest of my family (even my two year old loves them!) Don't get the off brand - there is a HUGE difference (in comfort - not just price). The shoes run about $30 a pair, which is a great price to pay for no foot, back or leg pain.

"Inexpensive" being a relative term, this may not appeal to you, but Parisian always has good sales on shoes. I picked up a pair of cute flats for $30 there just yesterday. They had tons on sale from between $25-55. Hope that helps!

Check out Dr Schouls brand of shoes. Now, I know they aren't known for being the cutest shoes around, but I just bought a pair of black semi flat shoes that are as comfy as my running shoes!

You could always go with flats. That is the "in" style right now.
If you want a little heal I have these...

they have a small heal and are very comfy. Good luck!

Try Sears shoes called "I love comfort".

I love Doc Martens! I have several pairs that have lasted for years. Once you get the sole broken in, they are so comfortable. I have several "mary jane" styles that I wear with suits or skirts and a few more casual "shoe" types.

I swear by crocs! I wore them for the first time while on vacation (walking a ton) and about 7 months pregnant and my feet didn't hurt at all! They make so many different styles now too so you can even get away with wearing them in an office. Mine were about $30.00 but well worth the price!

Hi L.! I hear your plea for comfy shoes! When I was working, I had several pairs of Hush Puppies Angel or Angel II in a variety of colors. They come in a wide range of sizes so you can get them to fit, thus "comfy". They aren't genuine leather so are less expensive. I usually ordered mine online--try Old Pueblo Trader (shopOPT.com or something like that). Good luck!

Another option is Easy Spirit. They can be a little pricey, but if you get them on sale they are about $45 a pair. I have many issues with my feet also, but don't have much cash for "good" shoes. You can get anything from tennies to 3" heels, and if you don't have a store near you, you can buy over the internet. Their customer service is great!

I've also recently purchased a pair of Crocks for casual days at work. They take a little getting used to, but are comfy! If you go with Crocks, try to buy them in a shoe store where they can help you. "The Shoe Store" in Waterford carries a large selection of different styles and colors, but they explained to me that there is a different level of support in different styles. They run $30-40 depending upon the style.

Happy shopping!

Hi! I am a recent buyer of dansko dressy boots, for this past winter. I wore them every day!! They were the most comfortable shoes I have ever purchased. They are more expensive. I have terrible feet problems, have spent a lot of money on custom made orthotics, to no avail, but I wear my dansko boots and my feet never hurt!! I will be buying a pair now for every season!!
good luck
Jen

I figured I'd read some of the responses before I responded. It seems that everyone knows that truly inexpensive shoes will not bring comfort. Remember the old saying, you get what you pay for? It's true. I worked in shoes many years ago and have found that comfort and price seem to go hand in hand, but remember, not all pricey shoes will be comfy to you! Some of the general shoes that most of my clients liked: BORN, Merrell, Hush Puppies, Clarks, and ECCO. Trust me, you will never regret the day to buy a great shoe, try it on in the house for a few days, and if your foot doesn't hurt after a little bit of time in the shoe, you'll be good to go.

I've gotten decent shoes from Lands End on-line. Sometimes you can find them at a Sears store. Not as cheap as Payless or something and not super-dressy but should be adequate for an office and pretty comfy. As a secretary, I used to often carry a more comfy pair with me or keep them in my desk (or locker) to change into when I needed to. Just changing to another pair will sometimes relieve your foot pain & weariness. Good luck! G. B.

dansko's all the way!
ebay has them new for 1/2 the price.
you are asking for a little too much.
you get what you pay for(:
Dr. Scholl's and such are junk. They do not pass the
podiatrist test...too bendy.
Earth is pretty good too

I third the Dansko suggestion (funny, because I have triplets). You can also get them much cheaper at Sierra Trading Post (online), but you have to know your European shoe size. You can always try on a pair in a shoe store to see how they fit and get your size before you order online.

Try Hush Puppy brand "Angel" shoes with a 1 1/2 inch heel. They usually cost about $39.00 a pair, unless you find them at an outlet store. They come in many colors and many widths, from AAA to D. I've worn them for years in my secretarial job. Good luck!

I would have to say that Natualizers make a very comfortable shoe. They run about $45, and worth every penny. You can find them at DSW!
