T.K.
Andre Extra Dry is always a big hit and right now on sale at CVS for $2.99. I believe Albertsons has it priced right now at $2.79.
I am hosting a rather large New Year's Eve party at my home and have no idea what type of champagne to serve for the midnight toast. Can anyone recommend a decent, inexpensive brand?

Nikki,
Ballatore is the best champagne I've ever had (I've even had the $100+ kinds) and it's by far my favorite. The $5.00 price tag is even better - you can get it at any Walmart that sells alcohol (you can find it most other places but it might cost a tad more). We'll definitely be drinking it this New Year's.
Cheers!
J.
We like Martini and Rossi "Asti" or sometimes they call it "Asti Spumante." It is 9.99 at Kroger this week, and last year they had it at Sam's. Haven't been there this week. It is sweet, but not too sweet.
I learned that the ones that say "Brut" are considered dry. To me they have a bitter flavor.
Go to Costco on the tollway and Park...you don't have to be a member to buy alcohol there, but you do have to pay cash. Ask for Aaron M. in the wine department....he's my husband and can give you a couple of good inexpensive choices....good luck.
Marquis Delatour, Schramsberg, Ironhorse, Roerdrer Estate are just a few sparkling wines made in California, are reasonably priced and taste good. Enjoy!
