Looking for Best Place to Find a "Big Girl" Bed

We are finally ready to make the "leap" to a big girl bed for our daughter.

However, we don't want a toddler bed that she will out grow in a year or two. We are looking for a regular twin/full size bed that she will be able to use for a while.

She has also "requested" a bedspread set with Abby from Sesame Street on it to go with the pillow she received from her Godparents.

Thanks.

Cribs to College is an amazing store. It is located in Naperville at Route 59. It has the most amazing beds from toddlers to teens. You can find simple beds to the most crazy beds that look like boats, princess beds and castles. The also sell their own line of mattresses that they have designed especially for kids. They are lower profile so the kids have an easier time getting into and out of bed.

Lastly, the customer service is AMAZING. I went in that store practically in tears because I was so frustrated trying to find something for my daughter. I stopped by not sure if they could help and the owner went above and beyond. He is amazing. I highly suggest this place.

We have got a bed from Back to Bed in S. Wheaton next to Jewel. We bought one of their pillowtops that was made in Wisconsin. We have bought other name brands but this was really comfortable and reasonable. They don't have a huge selection but we found what we needed. We put our old crib mattress on the floor next to the big bed just in case our kids rolled out of bed. You can get a fold down bed rail instead. When she discovers that she can get out of bed at night, just have to keep putting her back in a lot! Good luck!

I don't have a recommendation on the bed...starting to think about that for our nearly two year old too! But recently we were at Buybuybaby and they had an Abby comforter set. I believe Bedbathandbeyond also had one. Good luck!

M. - when we switched each of our 3 children to a "big" bed, we bought (or had) just a regular twin size mattress with the box spring. We put the box spring and the mattress directly on the floor with no frame. We put the bed in the corner and used a toddler bed rail the longest side that was not against the wall. This way, they can climb in and out with very little/no assistance and if they happen to fall out, it is not that far from the gound. When they were bigger, we added the bed frame and raised the bed off the floor.

Good luck.

We just bought a bed at Cribs to College. The selection is amazing and they really know their products. The sales staff does not receive commission, so there are no pushy sales people on you when you walk through the door. We went in to buy one product and walked out with something totally different based on information we received from one of the owners - even though the sales was much less than our original choice. Check them out.
