Looking for Affordable Childcare in Chicago (South or West Loops, or Hyde Park)

I have a 5 month old daughter that needs child care. My son just turned four and is starting a new school this fall that is for ages 3 +. His school is $200 a week. My daughter needs to go somewhere else, but it looks like I will be spending at least $300 a week. I can not afford $2000 a month in child care, can anyone recommend a child care facility or home care that is more affordable. This is more than college tuition.

What can I do next?

I would love to help you with childcare. I'm not sure if I am too far for you though. My husband and I just moved into our first home in Oak Forest and I would love to provide afordable childcare for working moms. My rates are much lower than day care and include all meals (mostly home cooked). My goal is to provide a family enviroment for children of working moms rather than a day care setting. If you or anyone you know may be interested please feel free to email me at ____@____.com

you may want to try childcare network - you should be able to find them on the web.

Are you able to get day care assistance. I have a six month old boy and live in the south loop. Every place that I priced was in the range of 1200.00 to 2000.00 a month. But with day care assistance it can cut in in half if you qualify. Something to look into, it works for day care or home care.

Good luck!

I am looking for daycare in the West Loop/Loop area too and I definitely can't afford $1200/month! I had signed my daughter up for Teddy Bear Daycare at 150 S. Wacker but just found out today that they are closing so now I don't know what to do. Any ideas of daycare/home daycare centers?

Thanks,

M.
