I know this is not what you are looking for, but wanted to share my story. I have multiple disk issues in my back. I went to a group of chiropractors for while without relief. One day I went ot a chiropractor in Downers Grove because it was closer to my husbands work and I needed him to watch the kids. Anyway, I got some relief that day. I had been at the other chiropractors every week for about 1 1/2 months (with massage too), but haden't got far with the flare up. Then I had results the same day with Dr. Bowers. The difference was that he did a traction adjustment. He has a special table for this. Now I did have to go back in a few days, but got relief again. Eventually he gave me simple excersizes that only take about 5 minutes a day. I haven't had to go back for awhile. Ocassionally something will flare up, but I am doing so much better. I hope you don't mind me sharing. I know you've been to chiropractors before. I just thought I should share what a difference the traction adjustments have made for me. Hi J.,
I use a chiropractor/acupuncturist in Romeoville, right on the edge of Bolingbrook off of Weber Rd. His name is Dr. Virgil Miller, and he is the best I have found. He is trained and certified in both Oriental and Western acupuncture. I once had a knee injury which was so painful and debilitating that I couldn't go up my stairs. This happened to me on a Thursday night, and I had to spend the next two weeks walking to and from Union station and LaSalle St twice a day! I knew an orthopedist would probably not even see me in time, much less do me any good. Dr. Miller's office got me in on Friday, and I was up and down the stairs by Saturday night, and had no problem doing Chicago duty. Good Luck! Their # is: ###-###-####, they are called Rose Fitness & Wellness, and their address is 1280 Windham Parkway, Romeoville 60446. Get well Soon! Deb
I see Dr. Bong in Oakbrook Terrace. She is a chiropractor AND a licensed acupuncturist.
Her website is http://www.advancedhealing.net/
She has awesome availability, can always get me in when I need to and on short notice too.
Frank Grill at Naperville Acupunture Center - it comes up if you google it.
J. - I've seen a number of accupuncturists over time and I've had good and bad results. By far, the best doctor I've ever seen happens to be in Wheaton at 200 E Willow Ave. He's Dr. Peter Harvey and his practice is called Easern Healing. His phone number is ###-###-####. His web site is easternhealing.org. His training is excellent-- includes time in China. The only issue I ever found with Dr. Harvey is that there can be a bit of a wait for an appointment, but I guess that can also be looked at as a good sign. Beacause of a brief move to Texas, I haven't seen Dr. Harvey in a couple of years, but I'm assuming that he's still in practice given he has a website.
Best of Luck, Kate

I see you receive a lot of responses already!
In case you are still looking afterwards, my husband should be able to help.
He is a certified reflexologist from Asia. Relexology is the most natural and effective way to treat any condition by massage on your hand and/or your feet.

This is my chiropracter, in Glen Ellyn, it's an all around approach to healing. I believe they also do acupuncture. He's great.

It took my husband and me over 3 years to get pregnant the first time. The fertility cycle that finally worked was when I added acupuncture with Karen Kerfoot. She was AWESOME. She totally worked around my cycle and when I needed to be seen to get the best results. I ended up finding out that she had treated a friend of mine's mom in her later stages of Lou Gerig's disease also. She is just a really nice person. Here's her link: Good luck!
I am not sure how far you are willing to go, but I love the Synergy Institute in Naperville off of S. Washington. I have bulging discs in my neck that had caused severe pain and numbness into my hands. After going to the for treatments, I feel so much better. I have not been back in about 2 years as they really took care of the problem (until it comes back I will go back to them!)
Anybody in Wheaton should consider themselves very lucky to have Chiropractor Dr. Stehl right in Wheaton. He is a genius- specializes in women and you really should try him before going elsewhere. Also, almost all chiropractors do acupuncture- just ask.
Also highly recommended is Marianne Laskowski, in Elmhurst. She is both a chiropractor and acupuncturist I highly recommend from personal experience.
You should also look into laser therapy for pain relief. We do this in Chicago, but not the suburbs.
Best of luck and feel better...
