We're going to a wedding out of state next week and need ideas for a wedding gift.
The couple have been living together for many years and already own a home and are established. It can't be large,as we will be flying, but we don't really want to just give cash. Any ideas from you great moms would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you for all the great ideas. I think we will go with the gift card to Bed, Bath and Beyond.
I'm sure they can use something new to replace older things. All the ideas were good though and something to think about.

I always hate just giving gift cards or money too so I buy something small from their registry and attach the gift card with it. Like someone I knew was registered at Williams Sonoma and they have a "new couples" cookbook so I got that and a gift card. Just nice to actually give something tangible but the gift card lets them get what they need, and it's small enough.

My daughter just got married in Oct. One of the gifts that got the biggest "wow" from everyone was a sign someone had made that had their last name printed in big bold letters and then "established 2009" in smaller lighter print over the top. I see you are in WI, but here in Omaha there is a store that makes these signs. If you don't have anything like that around you and can't find one on the internet, send me a message and I can find out the name of the store here. If you have the time, maybe you could order one from here. If you are interested that is.

How about an engraved/monogrammed picture frame from Things Remembered?

Good Morning - One of my most favorite all time gifts to give is; an engraved frame from Things Remembered. Prices are very reasonable; they have a nice selection of frames to choose from. Personalize the frame with their “new” last name together. If you aren't sure if she is taking his last name - engrave the date on it. Simple, easy, classic gift. Just a suggestion… Enjoy your trip and wedding.

Depending on your cost range, one of those digital photo frames that hold multiple pictures and can be set to change hourly or daily, are very neat and wouldn't take up too much space when you fly. Also, you could add some pics of the couple to it in advance, but leave space in the memory for wedding photos to be added.

Hello,
A gift card to a Spa or a place that they would like to eat would be a great gift that way it is more thoughtful than just a check and they could do something together.

I hate to say it but everyone I know has appreciated the gift of money. They tend to put it toward a larger goal/gift that they would never have gotten on their own. My husband and I bought downhill ski packages with our $$. Something we never would have been able to afford otherwise. Just a different perspective on the money thing.

Why don't you just order something online from their registry and have it shipped? So much easier for you to not have to carry something and so much easier for them to not have to deal with presents at the wedding.

I would say a gift card from bed bath and beyond...there is always something to find there and your always going to need something for the house no matter how long you live there and you can carry it on the plane. Bed, Bath & Beyond is amazing and one stop shop when it comes to home and married life!

I would suggest looking to see if they are registered. My fiance and I have been together for a year and have everything we need- but new towels, pot holders, sheets, things like that are always nice- I can get rid of the old stuff :). Otherwise, I have given a bottle of wine or a gift certificate to a restaurant as well.
