I'm hoping to plan a weekend getaway for my husband and I in March for our anniversary/last getaway before baby #2 arrives. We move here in June and haven't ventured without or 20 month old yet. Any suggestions? We love beach and/or mountains. I'm hoping to find somewhere relaxing, beautiful and drivable within at least 4 hours. Thanks for any help you can give. I've looked online, but there is so much available I'm not sure where to begin. I'm hoping to find someplace I know will be worth the short time we have. Thanks again!

What can I do next?

Skamania Lodge is nice. It's about an hour outside of Portland in the Columbia gorge. They have a great spa!

T.,

Our family enjoys a place called Kahneeta Resort in Warm Springs Oregon. It's just over Mount Hood (2 hours from Portland) and it's on an Indian reservation with kind of a desert feel. There isn't much out there, but it is a resort so there is massages and nail care pampering. My favorite is the swimming and hot tubs although their is gambling, horses, golf etc. The pools are natural warm springs water anf they have this Salmon Bake on the weekends where you dance with the Indians. The resort goes year around, but I don't know how warm it will be in march although the weather is generally at least 10 degrees hotter than the city of Portland.
Good Luck,
G.

A couple of good options that my husband and I have done:
http://www.mthoodrentals.com is a good place to look for a cabin to rent in the Mt Hood area, lots of options. also, using a book called "Weekends for Two in the Pacific Northwest:50 Romantic Getaways", we found a great place in Manzanita, OR on the coast called The Inn at Manzanita. Great book, check it out for lots of great options within your 4 hour radius!!

The Stephanie Inn in Canon Beach is hands-down the most romantic getaway, in my opinion. Highly recommended! Check it out.

Hi T.! I am expecting my first (it's a girl!) with my husband. I'm 6 months along now, and my sweetie booked us a weekend away at Skamania Lodge in the Gorge. It's only 45 minutes from the Portland airport out in Stevenson, WA. It's a beautiful resort with a well known spa and major relaxation! We're going next weekend - can't wait!!
