This location might be too far for you but I took a wonderful prenatal yoga class through Beloved Yoga in Reston. It's $130 for 10 classes and our teacher, Maryam, was voted one of the best yoga teachers in 2008 Washingtonian. Their website is www.belovedyoga.com. Good luck in your search! They offer a Thurs eve class from 5:30-6:45pm and a Sat AM class at 9:15a-10:45am. This was my 1st prenatal yoga class ever and I loved it. The only reason I stopped was due to my recent work & home schedule that has gotten soo crazy :/

I am not sure where you are located, but I loved the classes at http://www.baltimoreyogavillage.com/, in Hampden. The teachers are prenatal certified, they are knowledgeable and also spiritual if you're into that [not really my thing but whatevs]. I felt like they really knew what they were talking about. Plus they answered childbirth questions and asked us questions at the beginning of class to get us involved. There is no mat fee and there is delivered water to fill up your bottle with [not tap water]. I think all prenatal classes seem to run about $90 for 6 weeks, so this is right on track.

I also went to classes in Federal Hill, at a place on Cross St. that I totally can't remember the name of, and while the teacher was very sweet, they had mat fees and tap water and the teacher was so young that I had trouble really following her and feeling like she was really teaching me. But that may be my own prejudice since I went to the Hampden class first.

I have practiced yoga for about 8 years at Health Advantage Yoga Center, in Reston/Herndon. Their website is
www.healthadvantageyoga.com and I believe they still offer prenatal yoga classes (schedule says Thursdays and Fridays.) Susan is the owner and is wonderful - I'm sure she'd be happy to answer any questions you have. Good luck!

If you decide to, there is also a prenatal yoga DVD with Sheva Rhea. I did that with both my kids. It works great. Yoga will really help you during delivery. Have fun.

Hi- Here is Newport News, if you are delivering at sentara hospital, you could take their water areobics class for no charge. I suggest checking into to your area hospitals and seeing what they say-- even if it's minimal it would be worth it! It ended up in the beginning just me so I was in the class with the elderly group and we all had so much fun and it was the right speed for all of us. Good luck!
