While staying home with my 18 month old son is great, we get a little antsy to get out of the house and play. We've tried to go to the park, but most times we're there the other moms around act like I don't exist. It just makes me mad when my son is playing and tries to join in with other kids and they just stand there and keep talking amongst themselves. I guess what I'm really looking for is a couple of friends for my son and moms who are willing to make new friends.
I agree with you. I joined a moms group couple years ago and boy I felt very pushed away and nobody even cared to try to talk to me or even try to become friends with me so I ended up stop going even though I wasted the money to join. I would love to meet moms in the area and I have 2 boys.

I am a SAHM too with two boys and a girl on the way. My oldest is about to turn 6, but I also have a 15 month old boy who would probably play very well with your 18 mo. old. Our address is Sharonville, but we live very close to both West Chester, and Deerfield Township. We go to church in Mason. My sister-in-law lives in Maineville, so we're out that way often.
We would love to meet at a playground sometime. Colin, my 5 yr. old, has Asperger's and is homeschooled, so we often go out to play, or find an indoor playground. I'm due in November, but until then, and I'm sure shortly after then, I'll want to get out and play!

I would recommend checking out some yahoo groups. I live in Landen area (near Kings Island). I have a 7 y/o, 4y/o, and 19 mo old (all girls). We are involved in several groups. Not sure of your parenting style, but the cincinnati attached parents group is great for meeting other moms. See www.groups.yahoo.com/groups/cincinnatiattachedparents . I'm also a member of a northeast playgroup www.groups.yahoo.com/groups/northeastRP . You could also check out the Moms Club www.momsclub.org or Mothers of Preschoolers www.mops.org . Gymboree play program is also a great way to meet other moms, and is in Mason.
There is also a MOPS group at H. Church in Mason at the corner of Western Row & Mason Montgomery Rd.
I have really enjoyed being part of MOPS which stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. Our group meets once a month at Kenwood Baptist Church on Kenwood Road(about a block north of Kenwood Mall and Jewish Hospital). We are meeting next Thursday, Oct. 11th from 9:30-11:30AM and you are welcome to come visit. Childcare is provided with a lesson and crafts for the older kids. So it's a great opportunity for your son to play and for you to have adult time with other moms and make friends. I have a 21-month old boy so our boys would be in the same class. There are several moms in our group from Mason. I actually live near Montgomery in Symmes Township. Please email me if you plan to come and I can watch for you. I totally feel your frustration. I have been there as well more times than one. I just recently got hooked up with MOPS at Kenwood Baptist Church and I know that several of the ladies who are in this group live in Mason. I have met so many awesome ladies from there and we do hang out quite often. The next time that MOPS meet is next Thursday, the 11th, I believe. I live in Milford, myself, but I would love to get to know you and maybe introduce you to some of the others around Mason if you would like.
