hi S., i am just wondering why you are choosing not to get the shots? i am wondering if you know something that i dont but should about them.
thanks :)
I need a pediatrician or practice in the greater Boston/Metro West Area for my children who are partially vaccinated.
We have Tufts insurance, so I also need one on that insurance.
**edit to add...I need a practice that will agree to treat my children even though they're not getting the MMR or Chicken Pox vaccines, and I'm delaying the HepB until they're 11 or 12. We won't be getting MMR or CP at all, and we need a doctor who accepts that.
We have a provider now but he says we should shop around as he's not comfortable being their doctor if I refuse the vaccinations. I've been to 2 practices that say it's their policy to only take on vaccinated patients (or patients who agree to vacs.) I didn't realize it would be so tough to find a doctor.
I'm still looking for more referrals. I'd like something closer to Natick Framingham.
Otherwise I'll be following up on Lilah's recommendation :-)

HI
we just moved here from CA, where we used the philosophical exemption to not vaccinate, we have a 4 year old daughter. I couldn't find a pediatrician who will take her here. We live in the North, in the Andover area. Can you please email me and let me know if you found someone?
Thank you so much!
You might try asking on the mothering.com discussion boards. Lots of unvacced kids with pedi rec'd in your area. We're on the South Shore and see a pedi in Braintree, not at all close to your location.
We love him though, so email if you want his info.
I'm in the same situation as you. Still calling around myself. Good Luck!
Hi S.,
My 8-year-old son has not been immunized. We see a family doctor in Franklin. If you would like her name, or have any questions, feel free to email me at ____@____.com. I did a lot of reading about this when I was pregnant and have learned that doctors who honor a patient's request not to immunize can walk a thin line with the powers that be. As a result, I'm not comfortable sharing her name in this public forum.
Hope this helps.
Have a good weekend!
S.
Is your desire for someone who won't vaccinate or do you need someone to work out a time frame to catch up on vaccines?
I take my unvaccinated daughter to:
http://www.longwoodpeds.com/default.htm
I checked the website and it said they accepted most insurance and then listed a couple they didn't accept (yours wasn't among the ones that was listed so I think you should be fine).
The only thing about the place I don't like is the woman who draws blood. She just doesn't seem kid oriented. But all the pediatricians we have seen have been very nice.
Good luck!
Hi,
We are also on a different vaccine schedule. All three of my kids are "behind" on the CDC schedule, but I have found that most Peds are OK with this if they know you are making informed decision regarding your kids' health. Some will require you to sign a waiver stating that you have chosen to not vaccinate your children. We just started seeing Mark Cohen on Acton (Acton Medical Associates, I think) and he is fine with our slow vaccine schedule.
