For my first I went to Rocky Mountain OB/GYN, Dr. Hal Levy. I liked him, loved the practice... the only problem was the epidural. I asked for a "light" epidural, or somehow a reduced dosage of it. He refused, and said that was Rose policy, they have a formula, and there is not changing it. Besides the medial issues that casued with me, I also felt NOTHING of the birth experience, which I didnt like.
I live in Wash Park, but I am willing to do Rose, Sweedish, or even SkyRidge for the right experience...
Anyone have any recommendations for me?

The doctors are all awesome.
My first was a horrible experience not because of the hospital or really the doctors but because we had problems and my son was rushed to Children's and we were separated immediately for over a week. IT WAS TERRIBLE! I choose my second doctors mostly because I wanted to deliver at PSL where I knew if we had problems again we would not be separated immediately. The NICU there is capable of handling more emergencies. I choose Dr Breeden at Rocky Mountain Womens Health Care. I can not say enough about how he made me feel more at ease and how much of a better experience I had all around. The second pregnancy went much better no complications and released together in 3 days. Dr Breeden helped with my anxieties and I just felt like he cared much more than my previous doctors.
You will LOVE Dr. Gerald Zarlengo! Now he is a man so if you would prefer a woman, his practice has 4 or 5 women docs there, all of which I have seen at one point or another (I am 40 and on baby #4). I did a light epidural for all three so far but will probably have a full epidural for #4 since I will be having my tubes tied after this one is born.
The great part is that Dr. Z is responsible for a lot of new studies, techniques, etc. over his career, he was head of obstetrics at Rose for a long time but I am not sure he is currently, I think it is a term they serve. He is just a loving wonderful person and works with you on just about anything. If you choose to see him, you might want to know a head of time that he is very quick, not insensitive but he moves. I love it, because I like to get in and out and I trust him fully, but some people do not like this bedside manner. My other favorite doctor in the office is Dr. Oferdahl (sp?). She is wonderful and really takes her time.
The entire office will go to Rose or St. Joseph's, both of which are not far from you. Hope this helps. I wouldn't go to any other practice.
Dr. Levy is a good doctor,but he really can't tell an Anesthesiologist what kind of cocktail to use in an epidural, they all have their own mixture.
I would suggest birthing with a group that has midwives and OBGYN's in t group. My favorite's are at Swedish the name is All About Women's Care. They are amazing! My favorite is Anne Walters she delivered my babies, took care of me and I always felt heard their phone: ###-###-####.
