Hello dear Moms! We are looking for a Christian Church to attend on Sunday mornings. We are Christian in our beliefs, but are not strict or looking to convert anyone! Mostly we want a place that offers great community, a really great childcare/study program for our kids (ages 7 months, 4 and 8), and the opportunity to hear someone gifted preach. Is that way too much to ask? I hope not ;) We are South Central Austin but are willing to drive further out. Blessings to you sweet ladies!

I don't know what your preference is in churches... some like Catholic, Methodist, etc. (you get the idea).

You are welcome to come check out my church. It's Emmanuel Methodist Church. We are a small bilingual church. There's a nursery for the baby (up til 3yrs old) and Sunday school classrooms for the kids.
We all try to be to service together (including the kids) and there's a small time for the kids during the service (it's called Children's Time where they learn a lesson for the day or related to what is happening during the service).

There's 3 adult classrooms, 1 - Spanish speaking, 1 - small adult classroom (right now we are studying Dietrich Bonhoeffer's "Cost of Discipleship) and there 1 large adult classroom. Sunday school starts at 9:30 am for 1 hr.

Service starts at 10:45.

Easter Sunday, there is a 6:30am service, followed by breakfast.

We are located at 200 Brushy (E 2nd & IH 35), right along the access road.

We don't have a lot to offer but you are most welcome to come.

We attend Southwest Family Fellowship Church here in SW Austin and we LOVE it. They have a wonderful children's ministry from infants up through high school. They have two services, one at 9am and the other at 11am, and they have a program called the Buzz where kids take their parents to church (in between the first and second service at 10:15am).
We have lots of small groups that meet throughout the week, lots of volunteer opportunities, and great folks to hang with on Sundays!
Right now we meet in the AMC theaters in Barton Creek Mall, our new building will be ready some time this summer! Here in the website. I really looked around at a LOT of different churches when I moved to Austin 9 years ago and this is the only one that I found where it all just seemed to fit. I feel comfortable and the folks are easy to talk to where you don't feel out of place!

The two churches I have loved in Austin and have great child programs are Hill Country and Gateway. I don't know where all of Hill Country has locations, but I know Gateway has a south campus. I would look into these two. Good luck!

Good Morning D. C

I attend a awesome church called the R.O.C.K (Reflections of Christ Kingdom) in Austin. I am so pleased you stated you wanted to find a good church home. We love to help grow the little children and expand their knowledge. We have a astonishing Pastor named Pastor Charles Moody. I apologize I did not get this message in time for you to celebrate Easter with us. We had a great time, but I will extend the offer to you and your family to come out praise with us. We are a non-denomination church that loves to bring people closer to the kingdom not just church. We welcome the family with open arms and warm hearts. You and others. My church is on 183 and MLK Reflections of Christ's Kingdm

Try Austin New Church. It's great. The pastors are young and so is most of the congregation with a smattering of us old folks, and yet its very comfortable for all of us. Worship is inspiring and we have a great band with a female backup singer who has the voice of an angel. Check out http://www.austinnewchurch.com. We meet at 5:00 p.m. on Sundays. Our mission is to be the hands and feet of Christ so we are very active in our community. God will lead you to the right church for you and your family but give us a try.

We are located on E Cesar Chavez Street. We are scripturally based in that where the bible speaks we speak and where the bible is silent we are silent. We teach that silence authorizes nothing, when it comes to worship to our God. For example: Eph 5:19 speaking one to another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord. God's command for melody is that it comes from your heart and is directed to the Lord. This is the only melody you will find in the body of Christ. So many today will use their hands to worship God by playing a machanical instrument of some sort, however: God is not to be served by men's hands, as though he needed anything: Acts 17:25. We are the body of Christ. The definition of Christian is: Christ in us. God is proud of His Creation, he wants to be worshipped by HIS Creation, not by mans creations. God made our hearts to be used for melody. THIS is the melody HE wants to hear. The kind that comes from what he (and not man) created. Many go back to the OT which Christ fulfilled and nailed to the cross and say the Psalms is filled with mechanical instruments of worship. Yes they were but notice by whom? King David! So let's see what God's prophet had to say about David's instruments of music: Amos 6:1&5 Woe... to those who invent unto themselves instruments of music like David.. When God says "Woe" he means "Stop". We are a small congregation and old fashioned as some would say, but forget not that we serve a God who changes not and who can not lie. He is the same yesterday, today and forever, let us not forget that. If you wish to meet with us, we would be honored to have you!Our meeting times are 10:30 and 6:00 on Sunday and 7:30 on Tuesday nights. We are located across the street from the famous Mexican restraunt: Juan in a million. Hope to see you there!

We also live south, but drive to St. Michael's Episcopal Church 1500 N Capital of Texas Highway, (Loop 360) a mile north of Bee Caves Road. The church has an open, loving attitude, great community, and an awesome children's program that grows into a youth program for teens that my children loved and still visit when they're home from college. Easter services are tonight at 8:30 (this one runs long, Easter Vigil plus regular communion service), the 9:30am Children's celebration of Easter would be a great place to start for tomorrow. The 11:00 service has beautiful traditional music. "Regular" Sunday services are 7:45, 9:00 with contemporary music, 11:00 with more traditional music, and 6:00pm, contemplative. The 9 and 11 have Sunday School programs for kids.
I hope to see you there!

D.,

Try visiting Christ Community Church (CCC) in Austin. The address is 12675 Reasearch Blvd. They're having Easter services at 10a and 11:30a. There is an Easter egg hunt for children up to grade 5 at 11:00. Starting next Sunday, there will be one service at 10:30a.

Pastor Ray McCollum is an annointed speaker and teacher. We had been searching for a church home in Austin for two years when we were referred to CCC. We joined after our first visit and have been there for seven months.

CCC has a lot to offer in the way of missions, childcare, the children's program and other programs. The CCC family opened up their arms and hearts to us from our first visit and we are still experiencing their genuine, heartfelt love.

I would recommend to anyone seeking to hear the Word of God and be a part of a great community of believers to visit CCC.

God Bless - Happy Easter!
