We have had good luck at King's Auto at 151st and Antioch. They have another repair shop at 95th and Antioch.
We recently moved from out of state and are looking for a place to bring our older model Jeep for regular service (oil changes, etc) and the occasional repair. We had a wonderful family run place before that we loved and knew were honest and backed up their work. Anyone know of any places in the South OP area? We hate to just go to a dealership or the typical chain that tries to sell you repairs that you don't need!!

I've had good experiences with Eilenberger's. They are at 80th and Metcalf near downtown OP. Family owned, very friendly. Every 4th oil change is free. They have actually done minor things for me without charge and you can drop off your car and they'll take you where you need to go while you leave it to get worked on. Aaron is the one who handles most of the front desk contact - if you go, tell him J. B. sent you. They're also very detailed - I got my oil changed this week and they also check your tire pressure like most places but noticed that one of the tires wasn't holding pressure like it should and found a nail and were able to fix it so I didn't have to replace the whole tire.
We have a wonderful service with M & M Service his name is Mark and they actually come to you which is even better especially with small children. If it is something they don't think they can do they always recommend someone to you which we have always been happy with the referrals as well. He is very honest and they work quickly and like I said before they come to you whether you are at home or at work and do your oil changes, rotate tires, brakes what ever it is right there. His number is ###-###-#### his partner is PJ which I think does the scheduling and they are out of Overland Park so they go just about anywhere in the metro. Good luck
The best place I've found in my 20+ years in KC is a place called Paul and Randy's Car Place in Merriam. It's just off Shawnee Mission Parkway (about 1/4 mile west of I-35) ###-###-####. What I like best is that they give you all your options as if they were helping a family friend. Good luck.
For just oil changes I love the guys at Grease Monkey at 81st & Metcalf- one local owner, one shop, no chain.....for repairs Kendall at Auto Tech Services is great (just took my Blazer to him, hubby will be taking his truck in and know of at least 3 others that were really happy with his work - he used to work for BMW) He's at Shawnee Mission Parkway, west of I-35 ...###-###-####
We have been very happy with Christian Brothers at 135th and Pflumm. Good luck
