Looking for a Good Website to Get Car Seat Ratings

Eddie Bauer has consistently had a very poor reputation with their baby items. I wouldn't recommend that brand. You can't go wrong with a Britax - they are rated number one in safety and parent convenience. I have a Roundabout and LOVE IT.

www.carseatdata.org will let you know how certain carseats will fit in your particular car.

The book "Baby Bargains" unbiasedly rates (on a A-D scale) all baby item brands and lets you know what you should be considering. They then give you a list of which particular items they would recommend. It is a must-have book for all parents. I have followed their advice many times and never regretted it. There is also a "Toddler Bargains" book. Good luck!

I don't think they rate items per se, but the Consumer Products Safety Commission lists all items including car seats that have been recalled. I'd check their listings of recalls because that lets you know which makers have had issues with past or even current models. You'd be surprised how some makers just keep getting in hot water over problems with their products. Address is www.cpsc.gov I check there regularly to see about recalled toys, kids' clothes, etc.

The book Baby Bargains is GREAT for all baby gear. It rates them with a grade and gives a ton of info. I used it to register for all of my baby stuff. It's at any bookstore or baby store.
