Looking for a Good Surgeon for Gallbladder Removal.

I was just told that I need to have my gallbladder removed. Unfortunately, my family doctor is in Oak Park and I now live in Plainfield. So she does not have a surgeon that she would refer me to who is in Naperville (which is where I would have surgery).

Does anyone know of a surgeon in Naperville? Or know how to verify whether or not a surgeon is good? I hate to just check the yellow pages....

What can I do next?

Jessica,
I was told that I need to have my gallbladder removed as well. After doing some research (and talking to friends), I found out that once the gallbladder is removed all is not necessarily well. It can bring about other complications. Knowing that, I decided to look into other options and found out that many people have opted to do a "Gallbladder Flush or Cleanse" instead of having the surgery. It's simple and all natural. I'm thinking this may be the option for me, and once I complete my research I'll decide from there. But it might be something that you'd like to check into also.

By the way, I live in the Plainfield area now (just moved), and I did get some referrals of surgeons in the area. I have to go find the information. If you're still interested please email me.

Good luck,
Lynn ☺

Hi Jessica,
I actually work for Edward Hospital and one surgeon I've heard good things about is Dr. Louis Montana. Try going onto Edward.org and click on doctors and you can get his phone number. He's one of the surgeons that I know a lot of people of gone to, and he does a lot of them. Good luck!

Jessica,
I am having my gallbladder removed, as well, in July, and am going with a surgeon out of Elmhurst Hospital because it's closer to our home. But my gastroenterologist also gave me names of two surgeons who I think are with DuPage Medical Group and I think may have offices in Naperville. They are Dr. David Dehaan and Dr. Jon Spitz. I don't know anything about either one; all I can say is I do like and trust my gastroenterologist (Dr. Adam Klugman). Good luck!

This may or may not help, but my family doctor is Dr. Matt Carducci (Naperville Medical Associates). His office is in Naperville near 75th out in west Naperville. He is fantastic - taken over his Dad's practice some time ago - so it's all in the family. I am 40 yrs old and was delivered by his Dad. So, you can see it's a strong recommendation. I have tried other docs as I moved around over the years, but Dr. Matt is the best. Perhaps if you go to see him, he can then make a referral for you.
