Looking for a Good Pediatrician - Lees Summit,MO

My son's insurance company changed and I'm looking for a new pediatrician in the Lee's Summit, MO area. My son, almost 3, has autism, although he is a very happy boy, he lacks communication. He's getting therapy services, but does anyone know any pediatricians that have any knowledge and/or experience in the field of autism? I would prefer to find an older pediatrician who has been in practice for many years. Nothing against new pediatricians, I just think I want a doctor with lots of experience. If I can't find a pediatrician who has experience with autism, it would be nice if I could just find one who really knows his stuff.
Thanks for recommendations...

I take my kids to LS Physicians Group and love it. My son has been medically complicated since birth and I feel like our pediatrician (Dr. Trites) has always listened to me and I've never been made to feel like a crazy, over-protective mom. They have an office near Raintree that has a doctor - Dr. Yannette - who I think came from CMH and specializes in autism. There website is www.lsphysicians.com. Good luck!

Dr yanette with raintree pediatric, near 150 and ward. He is a younger doc but has a child with autism and was/is
very involved with an autism group in Kansas. Can't say enough good things about him, he is a really great doc.

We go to Preferred Pediatrics off of Chipman. http://www.preferredpediatrics-ls.com/main.html?src=%2F They take most insurance but are considered out of network for Blue Cross.

We see Dr. McEntire, and he's awesome. My husband has a genetic problem and he called a friend of his at children's mercy to give him info on when to get her tested and stuff, then got back to us, which I thought was really nice. I'm not sure if he has any autism experience, but we've always loved him. They have always been able to get us in same day if our daughter was sick, even if we've had to see Dr. Graham or Sherri, the Nurse Practioner.

Currently he has a couple of med students, so one of them will examine your child first, then Dr. Mac will. If this makes you uncomfortable, you can tell him and he'll do it all himself.

We use Dr. Kasper at Pediatric Associates. They have really awesome hours and we've been satisfied. You can see a doctor until 9pm and on the weekends as well...Saturday AND Sunday. Some of the extended hours are at their plaza office, but LS has them as well. Better than having to take a trip to the ER or wait until Monday...
