Looking for a Good Endocrinologist in the Los Alamitos Area.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good Endocrinologist? I am exhibiting lots of symptoms of low thyroid, and had my thyroid tested some time ago at my general practitioner with inconclusive results. The test came back "a little low" 3 times, on the 4th time it came back "on the low side of normal", so they sent me home with a clean bill of health. As I'm aging however, the symptoms are increasing, and I'm starting to feel like I need an expert opinion. I've been hesitant to pursue the issue, because there's a part of me that doesn't want to hear a doctor tell me, "you're just old, fat and tired... deal with it!" On the other hand, I'm tired of feeling like a slug all the time! It's just not me!!! Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

What can I do next?

Hi S.!!!

My Endocinologist is VERY thorough and I highly recommend him. He is in Huntington Beach near 5 points. His name is Dr. Rosenblit ... 714/375-5572 . He has been my doctor for almost 5 years, through my pregnancy with gestational diabetes & now with Type 2 Diabetes. I am SO happy to have him as my doctor. Good luck to you!!!

Hi S.,

I'm a 45 year old woman with very low thyroid. I have been battling it for years and I just wanted to encourage you to go to the doctor. There have been times that I was too tired to take care of the problem (and no one to push me) and the complications just kept compounding one on top of another. The thyroid can affect many areas of your health, including your skin and hair and even your heart. I don't mean to scare you, just encourage and a simple blood test is all it takes. When you find the right doctor ask if you can have the lab work ahead of time. This will save you from waiting for results even longer. Good luck to you.

Its not in Los Alamitos area but Dr. Denise Scott is a wonderful Endocrinologist. Her address is 1401 Avocado #101, Newport Beach ###-###-####. When other Dr's can not find out what is wrong with patients they send them to her.

I used to see Jennifer Hsieh (pronounced Shea). She is in Long Beach but she is not too far from Los Al. She was referred to me by me OB/GYN with my first daughter and I always felt she was very thorough. Unfortunately my insurance changed from a PPO to an HMO otherwise I would still be seeing her. Her number is ###-###-####.

Have you tried going back to your family doctor and asked for a referral? Sometimes you need another opinion.

I have a good one in Torrance. Dr. Joel Ringold. They are extremely thorough. They listen to you and take extensive notes. Had a great experience. Nurses nice as well. Good luck!

S.,

I live in CPE and would like to offer getting together sometime to talk about what I have done and am doing to deal with all of this. Maybe some of it will hit home:o) My body has been through the wringer and after many years of trying the presecription route, which was not working and only getting worse, I am now on the path to recovery.

It is like peeling an onion with all of its layers and sometimes you have to do that to fix it. Just going for the thyroid may not be enough.
