I'm looking for recommendations for a good childrens multivitamin for my 11 year old son. I'd like one that has all the basics and calcium in it as well, and as few unnecessary added ingredients (food dye, sugar, etc.) What have you found that works well for your kids?

What can I do next?

The answer to your dilema is go on my web and research the children's vitamins there. livingwithsolutions.com I am a Shaklee distributor and once you do the research you will find that there are NO additives, sugars, dyes and they are all natural. Please read the labels on your over the counter vitas. some of them are worse than taking nothing. Good Luck

I recommend Vemma NEXT. It is a newer all natural product with all the daily needs including minerals and vitamins and it has a great orange flavor. Check out bwynia.vemma.com/next

I was shocked to find that most vitamins for kids at the grocery/drug store have Nutra sweet in them! No thank you!!

I give my son chewable vitamins made by Source of Life from the health food store. I went there and these are the ones they suggested. My son LOVES them and begs for more! (Of course I don't give him more, but I'm glad he likes them!)

If you'd like a high quality nutritional supplement you can trust, may I suggest the Usanaimals or the BodyRox by Usana.
Visit http://Lesleymreid.usana.com
All products are designed to treat the individual at a cellular level. The children's vitamins (usanaimals) do not contain sugar but are sweetened with honey powder. We also have an additional Calcioum which is chewable and great for kids.
These products are only available through distributors like myself in order to pass the savings on to the customer.
If I can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact me.
You only have one family - give them the best!!
Take care and God Bless.

I would call your pediatrician and ask what they recommend. 11 years old is right in the start/middle of puberty, and they may have much different needs than they did a year ago or a year from now.

That is my best advice......I'm guessing your office has a triage nurse who has a standard list of recommended products who could help you quickly and easily (or ask a pharmacist to see what advice they have).

I WOULD BE VERY CAREFUL TO GIVE HIM ANYTHING THAT IS NOT MONITORED BY THE FDA. You can go to FDA.gov to see what products are monitored.

The Federal Trade Commission is constantly pulling products that make claims they can't support. At 11 years-old, I would be very careful with anything that doesn't have scientific evidence to support it.

Go to Whole Foods or your local natural food store.
Tell them what you are looking for and they will guide you very well.
MANY times, the calcium will be a separate vitamin... instead of all combined in a multi-vitamin. Do keep that in mind.

There are chewables, or the kind you swallow, or liquid vitamins.
So see which one your son would like.
Ask for samples.

All the best,
Susan

Trader Joe's makes a great kids' vitamin as well, and for adults too! No extra anything in the vitamins and supplements there. I'd also recommend anything from Whole Foods in that department as well.

Arbonne Hybrid Vitamin Chews for kids/teens are great. They are whole food, taste like a cherry starburst and have tons of great stuff a lot of picky eaters wouldn't usually go for (turnip, cabbage, alfalfa, pomegranate, etc).

If you need help finding them feel free to email me at ____@____.com

Oh...they also have no additives, food color, artificial sweetners etc. and they are tested independently for safety.

PHARMANEX vitamins for kids.,,,OPTIMAL levels of absorbption without being toxic and the highest bioavailable sources (best sources your body can utilize)

You CAN'T get these in stores. I've been doing them for going on 20 years and without a doubt there is a HUGE difference in immmune system and body function. Have tried other things myself as well as Abbie and I ALWAYS come back to these.

You DO pay a bit more, but it's like anything else......you get what you pay for. Flip side.......FAR less trips to doctor's office and/or spending $$ on meds!! WELL worth it!!
