I finished it in 1 1/2 days.... normally, I kinda take my time with books.. but that one was good from the get go... Also, " She's Come Undone" I remember being quite good...

I recently read a series by Karen Kingsbury called Redemption Series. These are christian based books and they are really good. There are several different series that follow the Redemption Series. I absolutely loved these books and couldn't put them down.

I was also going to suggest The Help and Water for Elephants too! Both are awesome! If you want something a little more mindless go for the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich as well as Twilight. Midwives is also one of my faves, it's by Chris Bohjalian. I've read some of his other stuff and I felt that none of it really met the standard of Midwives, though. For something really awesome, but kinda long (although well, well worth it) is Wally Lamb, She's Come Undone and I Know This Much is True. He has a new one about Columbine and I didn't love it. In fact, I wouldn't really recommend it, but the other two are awesome! Jodi Picoult is pretty good but she's a super downer! ;) I have read a bunch of her stuff though too! Okay, my last recommendation is called The Thirteenth Tale...I forget the author but it was so, so good that I read it really fast! I think it's perfect b/c it has the fast pace suspense of a "mindless" book but is very well written and super interesting!

I recently read "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" by Lisa See and really enjoyed it. As a little tip, when I'm in need of a good book but don't have any titles at my fingertips, I go to amazon.com, type in the title of a book I enjoyed, and look through their "Customers who bought this item also bought..." section. It usually gives me a few new titles, and if you click on them, they'll bring up even more titles. I've found many good books this way!

I love Beverly Lewis books. She has several series out and I have enjoyed every one I have read.

Anything Ken Follett is good. I really enjoyed the Twilight series (and I'm 32). The Lovely Bones by Ann Sebold. Any of the Dan Brown books (Davinci Code, Lost Symbol, Angels Vs. Demons).

I just finished The Help about black maids in the '60's and the families they cared for. It's a great read, historical, yet fiction. Check it out at your library. I really liked it.

For you or to kids? If for you there are so many (i read constantly) one that made a good impression is water for elephants, the road leading south, Velva Jean learns to drive...you should probably give a little more information.

Hi! What kind of books do you like?

I enjoy some of Jennifer Weiner's books. Specifically, "Good In Bed" (no, not a book about sex), "In Her Shoes," and for a terrific Mommy perspective, "Little Earthquakes."

Last summer I was stunned by how much I enjoyed, "Belong To Me," by Marisa De Los Santos. The writing is intelligent and the story development was really interesting and fun (with one sad part thrown in)!

I stay away from Vampire/Twilight stuff, mysteries and romance novels.

What are your tastes? What have you read in the past and really liked? That might help direct us in an area that you might find appealing.

For me, I like historical fiction, especially about foreign countries. For this reason I LOVED "Love in the Time of Cholera."

I also love the Jane Austen books--Emma, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion.

I don't have any suggestions for specific books, because I think books are a very personal thing and it depends on your taste, personality, mood, and so much more!
The suggestion I do have is to check out your local thrift store, salvation army, or goodwill. You can find all kinds of books super cheap. I make a bi-annual trip to these stores to "stock up" my supply. Then, I always have a romance, thriller, sci-fi, adventure, biography, comedy, or non-fiction novel on hand when the mood strikes me. It's also much more budget-friendly, since I read books terribly fast. The only ones I buy new (or ask for gifts) are my favorite authors. I keep all of their books for my some-day-in-the-future library. Once I'm finished reading the others, I keep up the cycle: Either donate back to goodwill or dump in the "help yourself" pile at work.

I LOVED "The Help". I have loaned it to 6 different people and they all loved it..

I am listening to Stephen King's "The Dome". I am really liking it, my husband is itching to get his hands on it..

I agree with the help, water for elephants, snow flower and the secret fan. Also, memoirs of a geisha and the good earth. James Frey "a million little pieces" was great as well.
