It's always great to read, even if it's ten minutes at night or waiting to pick kids up from school. so worth it to make the time for.
Non-fiction:
"Front of The Class" by David Cohen. this was just a Hallmark movie. it's about a teacher with Tourette Syndrome.
Jenny McCarthy has books about mothers and children with special needs.
ficiton: I'm in a book club-there are so many..
"The Other Boleyn Girl" by Philippa Gregory. this has been the favorite of the club. Impossible to put down. part of a series but this is the best one and can be read separate from the series. this is a wonderful book to lose yourself in but long.
"Snowflower and the Secret Fan" by Lisa See. Fascinating about early china and it's customs-including foot binding OUCH
"The Time Traveler's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger. A wonderful love story
"The Red Tent" by Anita Diamant. A great read about biblical times and the story of Dinah, daughter of Jacob. This coud be offensive to those who are very devout in their christian faith.
Other book club faves have been "My Sister's Keeper" and The Memory keeper's Daughter" though I have not read these.
**update- Our next book is "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen
Two of my all time favorites are:
"The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks. A quick read that will need lots of tissues. Even better than the movie!
"Like Water for Choclate" by Linda Esquivel.. A story about family loyalty and love set in Mexico of old. Also a quick read.
Happy reading. good luck with the rats too. they make great pets. Just be sure they are of the same sex or you'll be well stocked in babies!
