Looking for a General Doctor

Hi Moms, I am looking for a new doctor (general family doctor) for myself. Does anyone have any recommendations? I want to find someone who is an MD or DO but is also open-minded about alternative treatment methods; that is, not someone who just wants to automatically prescribe a drug for everything. I'm in Leander, but anywhere in North Austin, Cedar Park, Round Rock, etc. would work.

What can I do next?

S., our doctor alway wants to give us prescriptions and ones we strongly feel we do not need. As Shaklee distributors ourselves, we take supplements and stay off of prescriptions. We are just very nice when we tell our doctors what we will do to correct any medical problems and when they see the good results of our blood work and any other tests, they tell us to keep doing what we are doing. We do see the doctor regularly because we need to monitor lab tests to be sure we are staying on track. Our doctor is at ADC but we only need him for annual visits. Whatever doctor you choose, you just need to show the doctor that you can and are willing to eat right, exercise, get rest, drink pure water, etc. and stay healthy. If you want to know about Shaklee supplementation, call or write to me. ###-###-####,

We love the Jefferson Street clinic. It is actually on 41st street now, but whatever. I see Dr. Pugh and my husband and boys see Dr. Gupta. My biggest reason for loving them: They have walk in appointments in the morning. My kids always seem to get sick at night, so this has been a LIFESAVER! And for myself, too. I can go in there and get taken care of quickly and easily then come home so that my husband can get to work. It's close to Central Market. We stop there after the boys have an appointment...it makes a nice bribe for good behavior. Not that we bribe. Ok, maybe we do. Anyway--good luck!

Hi S.,
I go to Veena Surapaneni. She's right there in Cedar Park, 801 E. Whitestone Blvd. ###-###-####. It's right close to the train stuff there behind the HEB. I really like her.

I like the ADC clinic in Leander (Crystal Falls/Bagdad), I have had a negative experience or two at Dr. Mansolo's office. There is also Leander Healthcare Clinic at Osage and 183 - The NP is great. I have also heard good things about Northwest Diagnostics at EMDs (Whitestone/183).

Good luck in your search!
