I'm trying to find out if anyone knows where there is somewhere really great to take children to play inside. Somewhere else besides museums and Chuckie Cheese please. I would really like to find one of the places where they have lots of moonwalks inside for kids to jump and play on! Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have.

The Magic House is tops. Membership is cheap if you get the one that's only for the school year. I guess technically that's a museum? but it is really a gigantic place to play!

Science Center is fun to run around in but that's a museum.

We take our daughter to Crestwood Mall for running around, but she's smaller, so your 8-yr-old would be bored.
We also go to McDonald's. I hate the food but she eats it, and she loves the playground.

Theres Tumble Drum in St. Peters I think it is. www.tumbledrum.com. Also the 3rd Friday of every month (which is tonight) is Free Family night at The Magic House in Kirkwood. Its for 2 adults and up to 4 kids. City Museum downtown is, in my opinion, the absolute funnest place in st. louis for both kids and adults but its like $12 a piece to get in. Hope this helps.

In South County there is this place called Bounce U. You can find their website at www.bounceu.com. I have never been there so I can't personally comment on the place. My daughter is 9 and for some reason she loves those inflatable climbing things. That is what they have there. It looks like they mostly cater to groups but they do have an open bounce on Monday and Wednesday nights. I'm not sure about the cost since they only have pricing for groups on their website. I know I haven't really given you much but if you want to know more just give them a call and ask about it. I think it looks like fun but I just haven't gotten around to going there.

My son is 4 and he LOVES the city museum. We can spend all day in there. We only go a few times a year because the admission is kind of expensive, but it might be a nice treat for a birthday, or you can even ask for gift. certificates from the grandparents for holdays and things.
Be warned: it's a huge place, and you really need to keep an eye on your kids in the caves. It's easy for little ones to get separated from mom and dad.

We take our kids to McDonalds that have a play-place. You don't have to buy food ( but I always get me some fries) My kids love it.
