amazing christian woman and amazing doula
My husband and I are looking for a doula. Our baby is due mid - end of July and we are having a home birth. We were talking to someone for a while but it didn't end up working out due to lack of communication.
I'm looking for someone I can connect with quickly since we don't have a lot of time (3-4 weeks). We are christians and would like to find someone who isn't afraid to pray with us and/or just start quietly praying with me from time to time when I seem like I need it. Any recommendations?

Check the member profiles on the Childbirth Collective web site: www.childbirthcollective.org to get a feel for doulas that would fit with your needs. You can also send an email to the collective's address and ask it to be sent to members who are available for your date and fit with your christian background.
I would agree with Sue about Childbirth Collective but as well as the web site they have parent topic nights in Mpls on Mondays and St Paul on Wednesday's. The first meeting of the month is a doula informational meeting where several doulas attend and you have the chance to see them and talk to them there. If you do go to the website, click on profiles and you can read about the doulas themselves.
Hi Promodela,
I am working on my certification to become a doula, but before I started my certification I've been involved with 9 births (includes my own 2 kids) if you'd like I'd love to get together with you. I'm christian and pray often. I live in Eagan, I'm out of town for a couple of days at my sisters to be her Doula of her 2nd baby! I also have another Mom due at the end of July. Another place you can look at for doula's is at a Childbirth Collective meeting. There's a couple of locations in the cities.
Prayers for a wonderful birth!
