Hi, My doula, Valerie Bishop is on maternity leave right now, but she suggested contacting Wendy Blumberg, who is in Plano. Wendy is a certified doula, massage therapist, lactation consultant, and childbirth educator. Valerie says she's great and think she's on staff with a Dr. Parker at Medical Center of Plano, but does take clients on her own also. Her number and email are: ###-###-####
____@____.com Wendy isn't available, check out http://www.dona.org/Areas/Texas.html. This is a list of certified doulas working in the Dallas area.
I had my daughter at 42 in Feb 2004 and found having Valerie to be a great help to both me AND my husband during the birth.
Best of luck to you Patricia, I hope this helps.

OOPS!!! I just realized this was dated 2005... not 2006! Hopefully you have already had your baby! Sorry!
I am a doula in Plano! I am not sure if you have found one yet, but I am more than happy to meet with you if you are still looking.
Please feel free to learn more about me from my website: www.earthboundbirth.com or email me at ____@____.com
If I am unavailable or not exactly what you are looking for, I can put in touch with several other great doulas in the area. Look forward to hearing from you!

Hi there. Two recommendations...the first I didn't use as a doula but rather after the baby came and I was stuck alone while my husband was oversees. Her name is Gena Overby (____@____.com) and she is super! Also my doula from this birth is great as well. Her name is Veronica ###-###-####).
It really helped me to have a doula. My husband was a bit overwhelmed and sort of checked out during part of my (very long) labor. Nice to have someone there explaining the process, etc.
Good luck (and I'm sure you'll do great). Us "older" moms have experience and patience going for us.
