We are expecting our 2nd child in July. My daughter will be about 2 and a half years old when her sibling arrives. Any advice on what kind of a stroller I should get? I've heard that the sit and stand ones are nice but am open to suggestions. Any positive or negative experiences any of you could share would be appreciated along with brands you would recommend. It would be nice to find something that isn't too heavy or cumbersome. Thanks!
I really like my Graco double stroller. It is the traditional front to back type but the front tray can be completely removed and it fits the carrier.
We're looking at Maclaren Double strollers online. Son will be nearly 2 1/2 (Spina Bifida, unable to walk) when his baby brother arrives. Maclaren's weight limit seems to be the highest 55 lbs each child, 110lbs max. and can be used with a newborn.
Graco Quattro Tour Duo gets my vote. My boys are 23 months apart, and both large boys. We tryed out the sitnstand and the duoglidder but the quattro seamed to fit them both comfortably while still being relatively easy to move and transport. I didn't like that the seat in the sit n stand stroller didn't recline very much, making a nap for the baby nearly impossible. It would be a good stroller if all you use it for would be a quick trip to the mall, ect. But for longer strolls I think both children would get uncomfortable.
Quattro is one of the pricier double strollers, but I got mine in new condition on Craigslist for $150. Worth looking there first.

I just did a bunch of research and asked for opinions on the same topic (my youngest 2 will be 27 months apart) and decided on the Graco Quattro Tour Duo. While it costs a bit more, it's more compact than the DoGlider, and supposedly easier to manage and steer.
I considered the sit 'n stand variety, but found that the front seat does not recline very far, due to the bench behind it, and the undercarriage basket was difficult to access. Also, if your toddler gets tired, there's no place for her to relax (besides the hard bench, of course, which doesn't sound very comfortable).
Any double stroller is going to be heavy, but since the Quattro is more compact, it should be easier to manage.

I recommend shopping around online. I found that a lot of stores offer free shipping and/or discounts. I was also able to find coupons by googling the website name and "coupon". I ended up buying mine fr $189.99 at albeebaby.com because they had the color combination I wanted with free shipping. You can get other colors/patterns for cheaper.

I would recommend a sit and stand stroller. I bought a side-by-side double McClaren stroller which ended up being a mistake. My kids are 28 months apart. We rarely ever used it. I wish I would have purchased a sit and stand instead. I ended up buying a "buggy board" that attached to the back of the regular stroller I already had and it flipped up when not in use.
