My daughters birthday is on the 20th of this month and she will be 7. We have always had some sort of party for her and this year is kinda tight on money. For the first time we actually have at least 10 children we can invite, but I am drawing a blank. I have looked at the ymca and their parties are cheaper than the local family entertainment places, but still kinda high. Thought about doing something at home, but I have a 21month old that I dont want to get in the way and noone to watch him. Any ideas please?!?! I only have a week or so to plan cause I just had surgery and wasnt able to plan this ahead of time. Thanks for any helped recieved!!!!!

What can I do next?

Do you live in Colorado Springs? If so, you might want to try Focus on the Family. I believe they offer a party room and entertainment at their guest facility for free!

What about a tea party at home? My daughter loves tea parties. You can get various types of teas, serve cucumber sandwiches, fruit, lemon bars, various other goodies. Your son can still be there as the little girls will be having a grand time at the tea party. In our family, it is much, much more important to include family members in our celebrations than people outside of our family. So, we would never have a party for a child where the siblings weren't welcome. We believe that this sort of thing gives rise to sibling rivalry, which we despise. You could even give your son a child tea cup to use for his tea (which could, in fact, be warm juice or something you would allow him to have). I know it is hard to include a 21 month old in the activities, but I want to encourage you to do the best you can to include him. I know, 21 year old little boys are busy!!
Blessings,
Tonya--mom to 3 boys and 3 girls!

You might want to price a McDonald's party. I'm not current on pricing these days, but they used to offer a very inexpensive party.

Do you have a second run movie theater in your town? You could have all the kids meet you and your daughter there and see a show - the tics are usually $1.50 a piece - maybe even cheaper - and then just get popcorn/etc to split. I think you could walk away spending less than $50 easy...

Good luck.
