I posted a question about lokking for a church, but I got to thinking I should ask you mamas if anyone knows of any budget friendly photographers, florists, anything regarding weddings. We are getting married Sept 19 so I need to start booking people fast!!! But Im looking for good quality yet on the cheaper side.

What can I do next?

My mom, Sharon, is a cake decorator. I have a friend who is a photographer, and I know someone who is a DJ. Let me know if you are interested.

When my sister got married she had Hyvee do the catering, flowers and cake. They gave her a pretty good discount for doing all three services through their store. The food was great and everything else was beautiful.

Hi E...

Best wishes on the wedding, this is such an exciting time! I use Jan O'Rourke for cakes, she's awesome and very reasonable! I don't know where you live, she operates out of Overland Park, but of course will deliver your cake all over the metro. Let me know if you want her number.

I have also heard that people really like HyVee catering. I've had it before at weddings and used them myself for a funeral and they have extremely reasonable prices and are friendly plus the food is pretty tasty.

My last little tip is to start thinking about your colors and start shopping after holiday sales! I bought a ton of stuff for way cheap after Christmas and Valentines that I was very happy with. You may not choose colors that coincide, but start shopping around for things like centerpieces, etc.

Until you find the right church for you, check out Andrew Womack, Joyce Meyer, Josheph Prince, James Robinson, etc. on channels 191-197 or online... there are some wonderful ministers to learn from and keep your focus on and faith and hope in God. Best of luck!

I would recommend a very good friend of mine who takes professional pictures. I am sure she is very resonable as she takes on clients around her own family schedule.
Her name is Kylee Foster, located in Eudora Ks, ###-###-####.

Hi E.! I'm getting married in 6 weeks and I was looking for the same things you are - AFFORDABLE! We're getting married at Pilgrim Chapel downtown - very small, only seats about 70 ppl, but reasonable since we don't belong to a church ($700). For my photographer I did a lot of research. I chose Chris Walter - he gives you all of the images on a high res dvd afterwards and he was about $1000 less than everyone else I looked at. 6 hrs of coverage for $800. I recommended him to a friend of mine that used him for family photos and she said he has been wonderful to work with. His website is http://photobychriswalter.com/ - the photos he does of kids are my favorite! My sister interned with Affordable Catering in OP over the summer and I know they are supposed to be one of the most reasonable in town. I did look into different places for cakes and Price Chopper had the best rates - $1.75/slice and their cakes are very good (Hy-Vee $2, Hen House $2.50). I am using a man named Mike Bartmann - he did the cake for my baby shower and we LOVED it. My cake is $205 for a 2 tier. My favorite thing are my invites - I found them on www.etsy.com which is filled with personally made invites so you can get them for a great price. I used whimsicalprints & they are high quality...already stuffed...return address printed...I got 30 invites with RSVP card & envelope for $69.
Anyway...if you have any other questions let me know. I'm knee deep in all of this right now! :)
