S. asks from Irving, TX

I recently had a bad experience with my pediatrician's office in Irving. I was out of town with my 2 year old and he was vomiting and I felt like he had an ear infection. It was Saturday, so I left a message for the nurse, knowing that the office is open until 12pm Saturdays. No phone call back. I am tired of being treated like a number. This office is rather large and they also have a grapevine location. Every time we go in there, it feels like a cattle call. Can someone recommend a pediatrician who is in practice alone or with 1 other person that takes the time to listen to the moms and dads out there. Am I asking/expecting too much? I am very disappointed and feel I need to leave them and do what is best for my child.

What can I do next?

Hi S...

My son and daughter are seen by Dr. Erica Zwernemann..and I am very happy with her. She currently practices at 635 Baylor..but will soon be shifting to a place in south lake.

BTW which doctor were you talking abt..pls do share the name..so that I can avoid her in future...coz I agree that the most inp. thing that the doctor can give is her time and patience rather than medicines.

S.,

I want to say that I too had a bad experience not only with the fact of being a number, but with the staff in general. Because they kept insisting my son had a respitory infection (he was 4 months old) and that it would take its course, my son was hospitalized and diagnosed with RAD and know sees a specialist. Because of this I have switched and my son since 5 months old, sees Dr. Frank at Willowbend Pediatrics in Plano Texas. You are not a number there and Dr. Frank is awesome!!

We will all have bad experiences - I say when that happens it usually means its time to move on. Its always for the better.

Hi, I take my daughter to Dr. Darletta Kincaid. She offices out of Coppell on Sandy Lake Road and Lewisville off of 121 and I-35. I just love her. Since the day my daughter was born almost a year ago, she has made me feel good. My daughter had a bilirubin issue when she was born and Dr. Kincaid visited both her and myself and husband to inform us of what was going on and when I would need to take her to Childrens' Medical Center. I recommend calling her. Her Lewisville number is ###-###-####.

Good Luck,

A.

NO!!!! You are not asking for too much. My pediatrician ALWAYS treats us like his prize patients. I always get calls RIGHT back and have access to a 24 hour nurse line (like a 1-800 number) and the nurses are GREAT and patient. When my daughter was only 6 days old she started crying at 1:30 a.m. and wouldn't stop. The nurse spent 45 minutes on the phone with me and my husband helping us - finally figured out was what wrong and then counseled me on not feeling bad for not figuring it out myself (she was talking to my husband and could hear me crying).

Please please please - go to Dr. Michael McCoy in Grapevine - they are wonderful. The whole office treated us special when we went in to interview them. His phone number is 817/481-3535.

What is the name of the pediatrician and office? The one I take my daughter to also has offices in both Irving and Grapevine, and it concerns me that you were treated this way and have been unhappy with services. I just want to make sure it's not the same office.
