Our long distance carrier ( verizon) is now charging us a monthly fee. I am looking for another long distance carrier with no fees. Any suggestions?
Thank You

I use Verizon's PrePay plan. I think you can only sign up for it online. I have $15 dollars up front and when that is used up they automatically take another $15 dollars out of my account; so that it's always ready to use. I get 3 cents a minute, too, and over-seas is less, too....I don't remember the rate because I don't need it. When I dial out long-distance a recording tells me how many minutes I have left on my account and how much; if I'm in the middle of a conversation, there is no interruption and it automatically takes another fee with my permission ahead of time. It's really neat and I avoid the extra taxes and charges. I've been using it for several years and love it.

I use a flat fee service through Sprint. t's only $25 per month no matter how much I am on the phone long distance.

I switched my local and long distance service to Vonage, you have to have high speed internet to get the service since it is connected through your modem. I have found verizon and At&t to be way to high my bills were running me 85.00 per month. The charge is only 29.99 per month for Vonage and that includes your local and unlimited long distance anywhere in the US or Canada anytime. You also get caller ID,call waiting + more for no additonal charges.

Do you also have Verizon for your local service? We have a conbo plan with Verizon for local, long distance and FiOs internet (and now TV, too!). And, we aren't charged a monthly fee (at least that I know of...I am going to go check the bill, though!) Anyway, we get discounts for having the package of services and I think it is pretty reasonably priced. We have unlimited long distance calling and local phone service with caller Id, call waitng, etc, etc and even with the internet and TV, and local servie, our bills are around $100.

Good luck!

We cancelled our carrier and just use the Sam's phone cards. It's just 3 cents a minute!
