Local Farm That Has Tours for Children?

My son really likes farm animals and I was wondering if anyone knows of a friendly farm to take children to where they can see some of the behind the scenes stuff, as well as just get a close up look at cows, pigs, etc.? Preferrably near McHenry County.
If not a farm, how about a petting zoo.

What can I do next?

Tom's Farm Market also has a petting zoo. It's kind of fun with slides and little pedal tractors. It's in Huntley right off of Algonquin Road. Opens again April 2nd. They have really fun fall stuff too...

Hi Amy

I volunteer at Randall Oaks Barnyard Petting zoo in Dundee. It is located off of Randall & Binnie. There are goats, cows, sheep, llamas, horses, deer, donkeys, racoons & some birds among the outdoor animals. It is part of the Dundee Park District, you can go to their website at www.dtpd.org to get hours of the zoo. I am also part of a great moms group in McHenry County called Mom-2-Mom. We offer playgroups for all ages as well as having monthly kid parties & activities and mom only events like bunco, book club, scrapbooking & mom's night out. We are also having a wine tasting fundraiser this Thursday March 15 at 7pm at Winestyles. If you are interested in our group, you can call our hotline at ###-###-#### to get a newsletter or you can email me at ____@____.com.

Thanks and have a great day!

Hi Amy,
Have you tried Randall Oaks petting farm on Randall Road (I believe it's still in Algonquin or perhaps Dundee?). They also have several parks there as well. I'm not sure if the farm/zoo is open "full time" yet. Either way, it's still a really great place to visit and not far from you. Hope this helps!!!!
