M.R.
Slight TMI warning.
I'm prescribed to LoLoestrin too, and have been on it for the last nearly 1.5 yrs. I find it OK, it helps keep my periods to a very minimal flow, and mine get over in 2 days (Happy me...yeah!), and the whole cycle works like clock-work. No surprises.
I used to get headaches and stomach cramps and my legs and back used to ache badly before and during first day of my period. All these symptoms still occur in small proportions, but are much manageable, thanks to the pill.
I know each woman has her own style of symptoms during periods, and I believe no pill can cause them to totally vanish. But you are right, pills work well for some, and not so well for others. Keep at it for at least 2 cycles, and see how your symptoms improve or worsen or don't change.
