So I have a question, and it's probably kind of dumb, but I'm going to ask you guys anyway because you're always so great!!!
We want to start trying for #3. My baby girl just turned one last week and she still breastfeeds several times during the day, and I had a Mirena put in when she was 6 weeks. I had a light period on December 18, and had my IUD removed on January 6. On January 8, I started bleeding again for a few days. Then on January 17, I had VERY LIGHT spotting for only a few hours. I'm just wondering....if I do get pregnant in the next few weeks, any ideas on when I'd be due.....when I'd consider my LMP? I don't know if the Jan 8 bleeding was a period, or just from the IUD removal. The Jan 17 bleeding was SO light, that I'm not sure if that was a period!! Confusing!!! It won't even matter if I don't get pregnant this month.....but I concieved my first two children in the first month of trying. Let me know your opinions/experiences! Thank you!!!!!

What can I do next?

If you happen to get pregnant this month, I would think you would ahve to take the ultrasound info and go off of that as your due date. A period that is not regular makes it hard for anyone to tell when you actually ovualated this month. Ona diffent note it sounds like it may take a month or two or three for your cycle to become normal. So if you do not get pregnant til after you have had a few periods with a more normal cycle the ultrasound is about the onyl way to determine you due date. In the same respect I would assume you would be due sometime in late Sept. Good luck

Becca,
I would go with the last spotting. with the mirena, sometimes, with some women, it prevents the body from building up a large store of blood while you have it in. That may have been all you had to bleed. Your body probably is building it up and getting prepared for a pregnancy right now. When I get mine out, I spot that day, and I usually get a very light period about a week after, lasting about a day. Then the next period is VERY heavy! And just when it starts to regulate, I get pregnant. Its almost like it has been repressed for so long so then comes back with a vengeance!:) I have done this three times.
But like the others have said, your ultrasound will be very close to being actuate so try not to stress it.
Good luck,
E.
P.S. Make sure you are taking your vitamins so you can be fully prepared:)

One week is a very slight difference to even bother being worried about it. I also had a miscarrage after my son, then after I stopped bleeding from my miscarrage, I was PG in no time, thou i had way more vagueness with what my due date was, i might have even been a whole month off, but if ur planning on having a natural birth, when the baby's ready, the baby's ready, they'll come out on their own, I had no clue when my due date was, but labor was 3 hours. and smooth, thou she was 4.2kg, so I'm guessing she could have even been a bit late, but end result being a beautiful daughter. What I'm saying is I wouldn't let 1 week or 2 difference make u nervous.

I don't think it is a dumb question at all. Breastfeeding and IUD can both make you periods really weird. I don't know what I would consider my LMP but no biggee the doc will do an ultrasound to check dates if you get pregnant. I didn't really have any advice but I do want to say good luck and I hope you get your new addition soon :)
