Has anyone ever used a literary agent? If so, can you give me some advice? I know it's much easier once you've published, but this is my first book, and I'm just trying to figure it all out. Thanks.

I just finished my first novel myself. Luckily I have someone that I knew that is trying to get her foot in the door as an editor and she is handling that aspect for me. If you are interested in using her I can try and get her in touch with you. I myself, am looking for an agent, and this website http://aaronline.org/bylaws has a great list of agents that also list the genres they represent and what their submission requirements are. You will need to prep a query letter and the link listed below was really helpful to me on getting a start on doing this.

Note, I am really not sure if a book should be edited before you send it off, chances are if I am picked up they will send it to another editor of their choice. However, I don't think it could hurt to have a super polished book. I am a great storyteller, but not an English major so I am sure I need a little work!

Hi,

A friend of mine has written a successful novel with a contract for 6 more! I do not know if this is the same thing for what you are asking, but I just looked it up and his publisher is Stearling House Publishers. His book is called Wrath (Deadly Sins Series). My friends name is Robert Santoro. Not sure if you can call or e-mail them for information. If you need more help, PM me and I will get touch with him.

Good luck!
