I LOVE Lifetime Fitness. It is VERY VERY CLEAN CLEAN and I pay 43.00 for one person. The childcare is Very clean as well. I love everything about it. I was not impressed at all w/24 hr fitness. It wasn't very clean at all and had to bring your own towels.

Good Luck and I hope this helps.

We just joined Lifetime and are very happy with it. Not too crowded. The cost all depends on which plan you pick. Good Luck!

I used to work at Lifetime Fitness. They specialize in hospitality. It is more like going to a hotel to work out! It is wonderful all year round. They have special programs for children in summer, birthday parties, childcare is great, locker rooms are very nice and they have a separate family room as well. It is heavily staffed with personal trainers, and specialized classes/instructors all day. They even have a hair salon and day spa inside. It is worth it just to take the kids swimming all year.

We also started in at garland when it opened. We LOVE IT!!!! I live right by the Plano one and go there often, but also frequent the garland one, as they have some different choice of classes. Prices vary, but I know they were/are just running a special.

If a day goes by and we don't get to the gym, my kids freak and complain horribly! They are 2 and 3.

Good luck in your decision!

I was a member of LTF last summer and am going to "unsuspend" my account now that I have more time with the kids being out of school. I loved it there. I had visited Bally's because they seemed less expensive, but my kids complained about the childcare center. The childcare at LTF is very attentive, clean, and they have a ton of things for the kids to play with! My kids love the outdoor waterpark in Flower Mound. Best of all the security is very tight. Sometimes it does get a crowded (at least the ones in North Dallas and Flower Mound) on Saturday mornings and evenings after work but they have a large variety of equipment.

The cost for my family of 6 was $156/month, which includes the $5 fee/child for childcare. Start up cost was about $300, but included the first month. This may be a little more than others because my oldest child was actually considered an adult (at 13!!!). Otherwise, I think it would have been a little over $100/month. These fees allow me to visit any LTF nationwide. If you have one particular one that you will always go to, it will be a little cheaper.

My family loves lifetime fitness! It is worth the money, whitch is $129 a month for a family to use all locations; less for one. I thought of it as a babysitter cost for two hours a day. They are running a special for free enrollment right now or something.
I have been to 24hour fitness and hated it. The child center was just a room with a few toys, you had to bring your own hand towels or buy one for $3 witch is annoying to have to remember, and it was small.
Lifetime is so convenient. You can spend all day there and not be bored. For mom: there is a full salon with spa, a cafe, a starbuck's, saunas, and hottubs, a lounge inside the lockerroom witch has awesome privacy. There is a free class for any interest including nutrition. The facility is clean! There are wipes everywhere. All towels are provided from handtowels to swimming towels, there is a separate family(coed) lockerroom with showers, and hairdryers, and even a bathing suit ringer with bags to concealthe wet suits. The pools are zero depth to over 6 ft. with fountains for little ones to play in and there are even tall slides. If you forget anything you can buy it there.
I found the child center to be excellent. They sanitize hands on the way in! They are attentive, and I often see a child in time out witch proves they are on top of things, and the place is so fun my kids beg to go; hate to leave. They have free parties, and things to do for kids of all ages wich are kept separated by development levels. There are lots of kids classes and the menu is great for feeding kids breakfast through dinner.
Their website is worth looking up,too.
Membership includes a great magazine subscription and a starter kit with informative dvd and book. You even get a free training session with is great for getting on track.
I suggest you get a tour and see for yourself.
okay the only negative thing is that it can be crowded at times, like weekends. You can usually still find plenty of workout equipment but you won't get the best spot by the pool. I know the times and just avoid them or go with the flow.
Hope this helps and feel free to ask me for any other info.

I've been a member of Lifetime Fitness Garland since it oppened more than 3 years ago. I highly recommend that gym. It's clean, friendly, well organised. It's never too crowed. There is always available equipement to use so I don't have to wait.

They offer a few membership options. The prices vary.
