Hi everyone, after two months of extensive research we finally found a company that has high rating and a great price. Now we need to decide if we should go with LG panels which are made in South Korea or Solarworld, made in Oregon. Price is the same and the panels offer the same output. Which one do you have? Do you like it? Advice? Thanks!
ETA: Second It's a crazy life....find out WHO will be installing...are they factory approved technicians or are they sub contractors...what does the Better Business Bureau say about them?? Can you talk to local customers and see the job that was done??
Why not buy American Made???
We don't have solar panels. So I can't give you any personal experience. If I had my choice for the same money and output? I would choose American made.

While I totally agree with going US all the way, I would also look into a few other factors. Yes, company rating is very important. Who will install? What kind of warranty will you have? What are the pros and cons of each. You may find the a con can totally make up your mind for you. And a very important point, if the company is not installing, are there reliable, certified, knowledgable installers in your area? I bring this up because a friend of mine had some stuff installed. 2 yrs later needed a replacement. The company covered the item but she had no one to install it.
Price is not the only factor to consider. You need to find out how efficient they are, whether there have been any problems, how hard it is to maintain and whether there are difficulties getting parts. The fact that you are mentioning where they are made feels like you are baiting responders into a debate about "buy American." If that was important enough for you to include here, then it must be the top factor in your decision. But it also seems as though you haven't considered anything but that, making you poorly informed so far.
Personally, I would not make that large or that permanent of an investment based on a mantra.
I've never bought solar panels, but if all else is the same with other choices, I buy American made.
I'd first find out which ones have been malfunctioning and starting roofs on fire!
