My 5 yo DD has expressed interest in going to Legoland, CA for her 6th birthday in May. There will be the 4 of us going and we may stay the day down there or maybe a night or 2. Don't really know a lot about legoland so I was wondering if someone can share the basics. What tickets to get parks to go to, etc? We have done sea world and we do Disneyland so I just want to know about legoland. It was built after I grew up and we have never gone.

Thanks!

She is at the perfect age for Legoland. There are fun rides to go on and so many things to do. When we went we did not want to leave. You guys will have a great time! And if you are looking for a place to stay I highly recommend West Inn and Suites. It is right down the street from Legoland and they have a shuttle that will take you to the park. Have fun! :)

We went to Legoland. Look on Craigslist for tickets. We paid 25-30 each. Didn't go to the acquarium or waterpark. If you've done sea world don't waste your money. Going off to the left from the entrance is where all the rides and games are. Bring a change of clothes because there's water play there too. The right side will take you to shows and a big lego race building room. My son is a nut over legos and the first time we went, we went to the right. It was hard to get him out of there. We barely saw the rest of the park. The next time we went to the left and ended at the building area. Hope this helps. Have fun.

It's been a while since I've been, but Legoland is perfect for your daughter's age! It's really clean, great age appropriate rides and activities. The food concessions offer a nice variety. I think you can pretty much do the park in one day, unless she's a real lego fiend and wants to spend time building with lego, which can eat into your day...There's a pretty cool play area as I recall my girls could have spent the whole day there.
It's a lot more low key than disneyland, which I thought was kind of nice. Just an easier pace. Hopefully you'll get some good advice from folks who have been more recently, but I think it's a great choice for your family!

we love Lego land.
I haven't done the aquarium. and the water park is a let down if you have been to a "real" waterpark. The rides are all his size. I think legoland is perfect from age 3-7. and then they start growing out of it. my 9 yr old son is sort of bored w/ it. The 9 yr old can spend the whole day in the build it area. There are 2 play area. The one at the top of the park is HUGE and shaded. it is a great rest stop for parents.

How funny, we just got home from Legoland. Your DD is gonna love it! My kids are 3 and 1, and they always have a good time. We have annual passes, so I'm not sure how much the tickets cost, but I know if you buy one day, you get the second day for only $10. The aquarium is cute, but very small. It's included in our annual pass, otherwise, I wouldn't pay to go in there. The water park costs $10 dollars extra on top of the ticket, and it's definitely worth it. Specially because this summer, they'll be opening a new area. Also, Legoland is very friendly and they'll let you bring in food, which could save you some money. I hope you have a good time!

Your daughter is the PERFECT age for Legoland, and I think she will very much enjoy the aquarium as well. My youngest is 11 and I think the oldest age is probably around 9 or 10, but 6 is perfect. She can go on all the rides and enjoy it all. I haven't been to the waterpark but they do have a water area that is included in the regular park, that the kid's get soaked and is fun. The aquarium is extremely interactive with bubblesin the aguariums for the kids to climb into. It's really cool.

Have a blast!

My son is 6 and my daughter is 3. There is something for each of them to do. They LOVE IT! We have annual passes since we live so close. I think that waterpark will open again in May. Both my kids like it, although they have never been to anything like Raging Waters. It's perfect for them at their young age. We have the Resort pass which lets us into the park, the aquarium and the waterpark. You can buy separate tickets just for the aquarium. But you will need to buy tickets to the park itself plus admission for the waterpark since you must enter the park to get to the waterpark.

If you can, definitely go during the weekday. During the off season they are closed Tues and Wed. I usually take my kids by myself on either Thurs or Fri. No lines for rides :).

You can bring your own food and snacks into the park. I usually pack my backpack full of snacks and drinks and then just buy my kids lunch there. My daughter and I have food allergies and they are very allergy conscious at LL :). You can go online to get a list of what's allergy friendly and where to get it in the park.

Have fun!

Hello, Your daughter is at the perfect age for LegoLand. They also have an aquarium which you will need to get the pass which allows you to go to both if you want to see it. It is really nice. I have gone to LegoLand with all of my grandkids. I love it. There is so much to see there and a lot of fun rides and other activities for the kids. If you are able to stay and want to know somewhere else to go, the Zoo or San Diego Zoo's Safari Park are both great places to visit. Of course, I am a little biased on them. My late husband retired from the Zoo and my oldest daughter works at the Safari Park.
Have a great time.
