I freeze mine. So when I take it out, it sits on the counter for a whole day. Part of that time it's almost totally unfrozen.
Open it. If it doesn't smell funny, USE IT!
so, i had one bag of groceries left to put away and i fell asleep before it got done, and i didn't realize a package of cream cheese was in the bag with my noodles and canned goods :( it was out for a long time - probably from about 6 pm till about 4 am. i am so bummed! it was still sealed of course, and i didn't look at it at 4 am when i got up and saw it was out, just threw it in the fridge.
it's ruined right? might be a silly question. i just really don't want to have to go back to the store!
how did i not know this!? you guys rock thank you so much!

I'm sure its fine. Been there done that.
It's probably fine.
Did you check it. I would probably still eat it. It's sealed and we have so many preservatives in our food anymore, I am sure it is fine. If it's bad you will be able to smell it.
If we were in France, you'd leave the cream cheese out on purpose and not eat it til there was blue and green fuzzy mold all over and a special fragrance to go with it.
It's probably still good. If it doesn't look/smell funny, it's fine. It takes about 6-8 hours in the hot sun for dairy to go bad, so if it was at room temp, I honestly think it's okay!
Was it 80 degrees or more in your house? If it wasn't hot in your house, then I'm sure it is just fine.
I think it could be ok-think of all the recipes that call for it to be at "room temperature". They wouldn't do that if room temp caused it to spoil right?
Cheeses, including the soft ones, are so loaded up with the organisms that turned them into cheese that they spoil very, very slowly. Like over weeks. I would not hesitate to use your cream cheese!
I make cream cheese frosting ALLL the time. It's fine, I never refrigerate the stuff after I frost it.
It's totally fine. I have friends from other countries and they all leave their cheese out of the fridge for a LONG time and still eat it! I am absolutely sure your unopened cream cheese is perfectly fine. :)
No. It's fine. Things that are high in fat can last longer. That's why you can leave your butter on the counter. Cream "cheese" is 100% fat, I believe.
no!, its fine, ive left cream cheese out that long before, (overnight) so that it would be soft for the cheesecake i wanted to make. Butter, eggs and cheese are ok when left out of the cold, they just spoil faster.
it's fine-very stable
