I have gray leather seats and they are really dirty. What do you use to clean your leather seats? I also have an ink pen mark on my seat that I am wanting to get off.

What can I do next?

Lexol is what I've been using for years on my leather seats. It was recommended by a friend of mine who researched the best products for cleaning his BMW. When I had my car in for its maintenance a few months ago, they commented on how well my leather is holding up considering it's 7 years old =)

We've used Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and it makes our light gray leather seats look like new. It takes a few of them to do the entire car but it works great. We then go back and use a leather conditioner cream to seal it back up and keep it clean.

We use Simple Green, then condition it with leather conditioner. Not sure about if you are supposed to use that on leather, but we do anyway and it hasn't hurt anything ever.

Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) will take the ink out. We had a similar issue when our 2 year old took a red ball point pen to our light gray leather seats earlier this year. It took several applications and lots of elbow grease, but it worked.

I'd check in the owner's manual to see what it says about caring for your leather seats. If not, I'd call the car manufacturer and ask. If it's under warranty, and something happens, what you use may render your warranty negligible.

Usually, we take a baby wipe to the seats when we see foot marks, etc on them, and it does the trick. I've never had to use anything else.

There are special leather treatment products on the market, many designed for car seats. Any auto supply store or auto care section will have them. They're usually spray applications and very easy to use.

Hair spay should get the ink out - or alchol. I was told by a leather guy to use woolite and water to clean leather.
