I'm looking into some learning DVD's, if you've used: Baby's First Impressions® or Brainy Baby DVD's or if there's another type of learning video that you've used and love please let me know.

Thanks

We used Baby Bumble Bee videos. My mother in law bought the whole set for us when my daughter was probably only about 1. My daughter loved it and is 6 now and still watches it. I don't know if it was the only thing that influenced her but she is only at the beginnning of 1st grade now but reads at a high 2nd grade level and knows more words than any other kid in her class. I believe it can be ordered online.

Nursery Rhymes plays an important role in children learning. The rhyming words and soothing background music amuses the children to learn and sing along. It enables the child to learn and speak new words when growing up. In today’s world where the technology surrounds us and almost every important aspect of our life is linked with technology, there are also Nursery Rhymes that are available in smartphone applications.
Here is a beautiful animated nursery rhyme application for children to enjoy and learn.

Hi T.,
I would really encourage you to use other means of teaching your baby. Children under 2 are not recommended to watch TV, video games, computer screens... Older children should have less than one hour /day. Children learn best by MOVING their bodies. Sign up for some movement toddler/preschool classes, and focus on his gross motor skills that will help set the foundation for later success! Don't forget his best learning tool is you!! Have fun and enjoy your lil fella:-)

My son has watched the Briany Baby DVDS since he was 3 months old. He owns all of them and loves to watch them. They are VERY educational as my son (21 months old) knows all the letters of the alphabet, all letter sounds and is starting to sound out three letter words. He also knows how to count to 20 and recognizes most #'s 1-20. He also knows all his shapes. We also have the Leap Frog DVDs and he loves those as well. If you are looking to purchase Brainy Baby DVD'S the cheapest place to buy them is on EBay. We just bought some for my sisters baby and we got them Brand New for $6.50 a piece on Ebay through buy it now with free shipping. Good Luck

If you little boy is very active, wearing him out is better than sitting and watching videos. You can march around with him and sing the ABC's and play active games with him. I'm sure the library has some good books on games and songs for little ones. Videos at this young age are not usually recommended.

The Baby Einstein series of DVDs have been amazing! They have one for every age group that promotes the skill that they should be developing at that time. I have started my 8 month old on the sign language DVD when she was 6 months & she is already beginning to sign basics (milk, tired, food). They are truely amazing!

Be sure to do as much research into whether or not videos are beneficial to little ones. Especially if you have any concerns over ADHD.

Don't forget if you are a member of Blockbuster or netflix you can rent the videos first and if you really like them then buy them or just continue to rent different ones for a variety. THat is what we did with the spanish videos.
My mil bought us 4 baby Einstein and my oldest son loved them. There is a fight for the tv nowadays so my youngest doesn't get to watch to many of them.

We used to watch Baby Einstein videos. My daughter loved them, and her older brothers would watch too.

My favorite learning videos are the Leap Frog ones. Two of my three kids learned the alphabet and phonetic sounds before preschool. My youngest is 4 and still loves them.

Signing Time video series are great! But really, dont use much baby videos for such young kids, maybe one half hour show/video per day. Not more than that. We did get some Baby Einstein videos that my son liked, but mostly, reading to him, playing with him, allowing him to play and explore (ie, have a wooden spoon and one of your pots) while you cook is the best thing you can do for him.
