Hello!
IM planning on purchasing the leapster Lmax for my 4 year old for Christmas. Ive read soo many reviews on it, im getting confused. Does anyone personally have one of these, is it worth it.
My concern is that we already have nintendo ~gameboys, for the other siblings and my youngest already plays with that, will this seem "boring"~?
I wanted to influence, some education fun with this gaming system.
please help
thanks

Hi,

I bought the LMAX leapster for my daughter before we went on vacation for the plane ride and it was the best purchase ever!! I love it because it is very educational and at the same time fun for her. She plays with it at least a couple of hours a day. I have most of the games for the PK-K age group and think this is going to be one of the toys that will last a long time.
Hope this help,
M.

Hi!

My kids have these and they LOVE them. We own nearly all the leapster games and my kids spend hours playing them. Even though the games are educational there are tons of activities with each cartridge-- my kids like them as much as regular video games. If you wanted to save some money you could just buy the regular Leapster as there are only few games that are actually for the leapster l-max -- although all the games can play on both handhelds they just don't all have the "play on the tv" ability. Plus the L-max games are much more expensive. If you have any more questions feel free to email ____@____.com

Well we have this for our 3.5 yr old and it was a great purchase, at this age he can write at least 9 of the alphabet without tracing anything I think this is the best. Besides I prefer that he play this than the gamecube his older brothers have.

My mother bought my son (5) a Leapster Max for Christmas. And he was given a cartridge for Christmas by his grandparents. He used the Leapster just about every day for about the first 3 months. Now he uses it about 2-4 times a week. He loves it. It's definitely time for a new cartridge. He has learned a lot from it. I also like it for those long car drives which we take often.

I would not compare it to a Nintendo type of toy. It is more educational than anything.

Good Luck!

I bought the LMAX for my son this summer - and he loves it! I love it b/c it keeps him busy and it is educational. Also he has an option of not playing a game and doodling on the screen. It has coloring book on the screen and he can chose to color or paint (like on a computer) . It also has a blank screen w/ interactive stamps you click on . He made a picture today using the blank screen. After swiggling some lines he used the shooting star stamp, a dog , and a spider. The stars moved around the screen, spiders were crawling over the screen and the dog walked around. It is a lot of fun.
Also He just turned 4 this November - and I bought him the Nintendo DS Lite. He has nintendo time and Lmax time and still enjoys his Lmax . It is a good buy - I would go for it.
