Leapfrog Tag Reading System

If your son is developmentally on track, then the Tag reading system is too young for him.

My 5 year old got it a year ago at Christmas (when she was 4 obviously lol) and she loves it but doesn't use it as often as I'd hoped. None of the books go beyond the level of an 8 year old so he may outgrow it far too quickly.

I believe the age group is 4-8 for which it is recommended.

Try a Leapster 2 or a Nintendo DS/DSi with some educational games. The Nintendo will grow with him into the teens.

It's ok. You have to download all the books. Plus it adds up fast at $15 a book. Better of reading normal books.

I agree that it is much too young for him. My five year old boy (almost six and reading) has no interest in it anymore. He enjoyed it when he got it at four. My almost three girl old girl though loves it.

We bought the TAG reading system for my daughter when she was 4. If your sone can already read this might not be the product for him. It is supposed to help them learn to read. My daughter is now 6 and can read very well. I am not sure if it had anything to do with the TAG system since she has always loved books and we would read to her all of the time. But she did like it, and still does. Hope this helps.
