Hello Ladies. You guys give such great advice, so......................I love my clothes to have that good smell of fabric softener. They smell great when I get them out of the washer and I put them in the dryer and it's like they lose that smell. I'm wondering if the heat of the dryer is doing it and if you guys have any tips for me to be able to keep that smelly smell :) I have tried using low heat, drying for less time and it sounds crazy, but it really frustrates me. Thanks so much!

What can I do next?

The dryer forces air through the fibers and the smell dissipates. It is natural. They still have a bit of the fragrance left but you may not be able to smell it due to your nose being used to smelling the scent when it is the strongest.

I get lots of compliments on the smell of my clothes, I often get asked what kind of perfume I am wearing and I don't wear any, it is the laundry soap, Gain Original, and the fabric softener, Downy with the green lid, and then I use Bounce Free with no fragrances or other additives.

I use the liquid softner in the wash and dryer sheets in the dryer...that's how I keep the smell..

I use permanent press in the dryer as well...

GOOD LUCK!!!

If you don't have a washer that weighs the load and uses the appropriate amount Of water for the amount of clothes, try setting it to a smaller load (less water) but using the same amount if Downey or other brand liquid fabric softener.that way, there is not as much water to dilute the softener. I let my friend borrow some maternity clothes & she asked me how I got them smelling so good & I told her, but she said she did all the same things & used the sane stuff. The only difference was our washing machines...we figured she should use less water for the loads ;) Also my mom started using those crystals that you add to the wash & she loves them! Maybe that would help too. I haven't tried them because I'm happy with how my clothes smell. I use high heat to dry most of my clothes, so I'm not sure that could be the problem :/ Also, I use scented detergent, scented Downey, and a scented dryer sheet. Yumm :D

Purex all the way!

I use Purex 3 in 1 laundry sheets for my work clothing - they are pricier than regular detergent but not when they are on sale :) they go into the washing machine and make shop and softener, then with the laundry into the dryer. Everything comes out smelling great and the smell lasts for days.

I also use Purex Crystals with whatever laundry detergent I find on sale for day to day things (towels, sheets, sweats, etc.) - they are softener and smell goody crystal that add to the laundry. Clothing comes out of the dryer smelling wonderful and it also lasts for days and days.

I find Bounce sheets don't really do it for me anymore - the smell doesn't hold. But I love to put the bounce sheets in luggage when I travel and when it is stored, and in the bottom of sock and undies drawers.

Now if I only loved folding and putting away the good smelling laundry. LOL

Arm and hammer have wet dryer sheets. My clothes smell amazing!!!!!! I found myself sniffing my shoulder while driving and thinking to myself how good my shirt smelled. I have never had that reaction to a dryer sheet before. My kids have said how great their sheets smell so they noticed too. The dryer sheets come in a bright yellow plastic box and are wet wipes. Love it!!!
