I actually use vinegar as a fabric softer. I put 1 cup for a very large load in the rinse cycle. The smell does not stay. I am not sure if this will help your situation but it is easy, cheap, and healthy for baby skin to try....
I'm using Country Save detergent to wash my baby's clothing. I don't use fabric softener since Downy has so many perfumes in it. However, since Country Save doesn't have any fragrances, the baby's clothes are smelling like rotten eggs. I guess our water stinks and the odor is being held by the clothing. I was doing a second rinse when done, but now I'm down to just the regular rinse after washing which seems to help a little. Is there some type of organic/natural additive that I can put into the wash to give it a fresh scent?

Hi T.,
I shop from a company that has great cleaning & laundry products that are concentrated and are safer and healthier for our families - also environmentally responsible. They are economically priced as well!
We have a fresh scent detergent that is 6x's the concentrate. The scent of the detergent, fabric softner, and dryer sheets are made up of a component of essential oils which are alot heathlier than chemical fragrances.
If you interested in knowing more about it, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks!

Baking soda is wonderful!!
HI,
I would suggest baking soda. If you look at the package it reviews how many ways you can use it and laundry odor removal is one. It has been around forever and works for all kins of household cleaning.
Good luck.
