not technologically literate at all. I thought the sailes gal said the DSi came with like a starter game. i skimmed through the manual and am not finding anything. You can download games right ???? through the nintendo store ONLY? ??? and it costs right??? Are there any free points you get to start you off?? sorry i know i should tackle the manual again or just give in and drop another $40 at TRus for a game.

I don't believe that they come preloaded with games, but you can find cheaper games at Walmart/Target used ones off of craigslist and even pawn shops sell used games (hubby has bought quite a few of them at pawn shops and hasn't had a problem with them).
My GameStop has a whole table top of DSI games starting at $1.99. They may be older games but they will at least be games.
This is the main reason people are going towards tablets and pad. They go to an online market where there are hundreds of free games like Angry Birds, word games, paint games, all kinds of games, they are just like my smart phones.
Do you have a Game Stop in your town? It's a pre-owned game shop and you can get used DSi games for a fraction of the price.
DO NOT GO TO TOYS RUS FOR GAMES Go to GAMESTOP and buy USED games for CHEAP!!!! There is not a game that comes with it ... the 3DS has a game but not the DSi. 100points equals $1 in the store just so you know.
We get all of our games used from Gamestop. Well all of the DS and DSi games at least. Wii games for gifts sometimes come new, but a lot of those are used too! Why not go with a cheaper cost for the same game?
You can get tons of games for younger kids especially for under $10!
My daughters' just got one last year and it doesn't come with any games however, it comes with a camera and you can take pictures and distort them and do other funny things with them. However, I have no idea have it's done. My daughter's are 13 and 9 and they figured them out on their own. We have the Nintendo DSi XL (bigger screen). Good-luck.
go to red box and rent the games. or Blockbuster if you have any near you.
Gamestop has used games that you can get as well.
Gamefly - is the netflix of games - gamefly.com - and you can order games every month - they mail them to you and you return them - then it's always cycling through...nothing gets "old".
Not that I am aware of. The DSI will not allow you to play the game boy games either. If I intended to buy one I would purchase the original DS system. You have more game options.
I went to pawn shops for video games because our Game Stop never had any game below 19.99. Then I found out you can trade 3 games for 1 there so I might go back.
Pawn shops had the deals. One game for an origina XBOX didn't work, but they give refunds. (The store was dusty and repulsed me a bit, but some of them are nice).
I got my son 3ds for Christmas and I think he was playing games on it before he got the games opened. Not sure how he did it. He is 7 and knows more then me about that kind of stuff. LOL LOL
My son has the DSi xl and yes it came with brain age.
if a dsi is the same as a ds ...it does not come with games, you have to buy the games for them. i guess I am not sure what a dsi is.
Try craigslist for games.
Should have brain age/brain age Math, picture studio, sounds, camera, etc.....but as for games--buy used at Game Stop or RENT them from Family Video or similar until they are for sure "liked"!
