Does anyone know if I am able to get laser hair removal while breastfeeding? I just bought a deal and then saw online that you are not allowed to do it while BF. Some websites say you can. Just wondering if I should do it and not tell them that I am.

What can I do next?

Laser hair removal has no effect on breast feeding.. it pretty much has no effect on anything on your body except the actual hair follicle being targeted so I'd just not tell them I was breast feeding and use your deal.

I find kellymom.com to be a very reputable site for breastfeeding questions, according to her it is fine.

Also some dermatologists answered this question and most said it is fine, one said not to do it while pregnant (but of course that was not the question), and one said not to do it while breastfeeding, but acknowledged that there is no evidence of harm. I agree that it probably said just to cover themselves.

I think as long as you are not lasering hair on your breast it would be fine. I would do it.

when you schedule your appointment ask them and ask why...

if you lie to them and it doesn't work - you've just wasted money...can you afford to do that?

I can't think of what the damage would be other then the cortisol levels in the milk will be high right after you have it done because it can be a bit painful so maybe express that milk and throw it out! Stress hormones are BAD for baby!

I did while I was still breastfeeding my daughter. I do wish I had waited to start the process until I was completely done having children. Any benefit I got from the laser treatments went away when I got pregnant again and hasn't really recovered since I gave birth. I basically have to start all over again, so I am waiting until we are done adding to our family.

I think you can. Don't see why one would have anything to do with the other.
