Lansinoh as Lip Balm?

Thoughts? My lips get really chapped during the winter, and I'm not too exicted about using petroleum jelly. Most lip balms have lots of junk in them and don't work that well. Lansinoh is safe for a newborn's lips--why not mine? And I have almost a whole tube left--lol. Anyone else do this? Any reason not to?

What can I do next?

Yes. I ran out of my good, homemade lip balm & didn't have time to make more, and used lanolin instead and it was wonderful. I still like traditional beeswax based lip balm, but this was a lifesaver. Two thumbs up.

I used it at night on my lips or if I was going out on a really cold, windy day. In Chicago that's all winter. I also used it on my hands. I would rub it in really well on my knuckles at night and if they were really bad, I wore cotton gloves. My hands didn't stay dry very long.
And I got my husband to use it on his face when he was working outside during the winter. He was extremely reluctant at first. It only took the first day to convince him.

I used it on my four-year-old son's badly chapped lips, and they healed very quickly. I've also used it on my hands (which were so dry I was getting a rash), and it worked better than any of the lotions I have. If it's safe enough to use while you're nursing, I can't see why it wouldn't be safe to use as lip balm.

my baby nurse said that it's good for that. I use Burt's Bees, which is beeswax and peppermint oil, mostly, and works great for me.

I thought I was the only one that did that! I love the way it looks... kinda like lip gloss. I put it on my kids lips too since it's safe to ingest. I also use it as diaper cream.

Yes, I would use it! it worked great when I was nursing my little ones so I don't see how they wouldn't work on the lip area.
